Mrs. Kensington is a character in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery played by Mimi Rogers. She was Austin's original side-kick in the 1960s. Although Austin has a soft spot for her, she is married to another. She is the mother of Vanessa Kensington. The character is a spoof of Mrs. Emma Peel character from the television series The Avengers. [1] [2]
[edit] Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
In the year 1967, Mrs. Kensington was Austin Powers' old side-kick. Austin and Mrs. Kensingston made their way to a London nightclub and see Dr. Evil there. Austin and Mrs. Kensingston try to stop him. However, Dr. Evil escapes in a space rocket disguised as a Bob's Big Boy statue, where he places himself in a cryogenic freezing chamber to return sometime in the future. Therefore Austin volunteers to have himself placed in cryostasis in case his services are needed in the future.
Later, on June 10th 1970, Mrs. Kensington gave birth to a daughter, Vanessa, and later retired.
Since Vanessa was shown to be a fembot in the second movie, Mrs. Kensington's status of being a human or robot is unknown. However, it is quite possible that the fembot was in fact modeled after the real Vanessa without Mrs. Kensington knowing; she did seem a bit surprised to know the fembot Vanessa was resisting Austin's mojo.
