MONU – magazine on urbanism is an English-language, bi-annual magazine that covers topics of urban culture, development and politics.
MONU has been founded in 2004 and is published in Rotterdam as a unique international forum for artists, writers and designers that are working on urban topics. Each issue collects essays, projects and photographs from writers from all over the world to a given topic.
Past contributors include Joep van Lieshout, Loïc Wacquant, Teddy Cruz, Floris Alkemade/OMA, CUP, Thomas Sieverts, Joost Meuwissen, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto or Eyal Weizman.
During the Documenta 12 in Kassel 2007 MONU was part of the open workspace project “the making of your magazines”, initiated by the German magazine archplus.
