[edit] Club career

Garcia is a product of the youth teams of Sporting Clube de Portugal, and debuted with the first team in 2003-04, in a 2-1 away defeat against Académica de Coimbra.

The 2004-05 season was remarkable for Garcia. First, against SL Benfica, in the Portuguese Cup, he missed the penalty that eliminated Sporting in the round of 16, on January 26, 2005. A few months after, on May 5, in the last minute of extra time, he scored a header in the UEFA Cup semi-finals second leg against AZ Alkmaar, as Sporting lost 3-2 away but qualified through the away goals rule.

Garcia signed a pre-contract agreement with Reggina Calcio, joining the club in summer of 2007 after the contract with Sporting expired. He had a serious knee injury in October 2007, and did not play a single match the entire season for the Italian side. On March 17, 2008, Reggina Calcio communicates to have rescinded the contract with Miguel Ângelo Moita Garcia[1].

[edit] International career

Garcia was a member of the Portuguese U-21 team at the 2004 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship, which saw the team finishing third place, yet failing to gain a place to Athens for Olympic football.

He played in qualifying matches for 2006 U-21 Euro edition, but failed to have a place in the final squad.
