[edit] Background
Born in New York City, Lenett received a B.A. from Brandeis University and an M.A. from Georgetown University before attending the Georgetown University Law Center for both a J.D. and an LL.M. degree. He has since worked in private practice, as a professor at George Washington University's National Law Center, and for the firm Cuneo, Giblert, & LaDuca. Lenett was active during this time with local Democratic Party organizations and anti-violence organizations.
[edit] In the legislature
Lenett was elected to the State Senate in the 2006 election over two sitting delegates. He currently sits on the Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee.
During the 2007 Special Session, Lennett voted in favor of putting slots before the public in a Constitutional referendum, but planned on voting against it and urged his constituents to do the same.[1]
