Hello. I was born on August 25, 1970 in Columbia, MO, USA. In December 1975, my family moved to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia where we spent the next 10.5 years, moving back to the USA to live in Chesterfield, MO, (a suburb of St. Louis, MO) for one year. We then moved to Sugar Land, TX, (a suburb of Houston, TX) where I completed my High School education at Clements High School.
Having enlisted in the US Army while a Junior in High School, I left for Basic Combat Training as an Armored Reconnaissance Specialist, (better known as Cavalry Scout) three days after my graduation from High School. I attended OSUT at Ft. Knox, KY starting June 13, 1989 and finishing up in October, 1989.
I spent a total of 8 years on active duty in the following units/places:
3rd Platoon, Bravo Troop 1st Squadron 4th US Cavalry Regiment, (1-4 CAV is also referred to as "The Quarterhorse") US 1st Infantry Division or the "Big Red One" at Ft. Riley, KS. I was assigned as a M3 Bradley Driver, M3 Bradley Gunner & Unit Armorer.
Headquarters & Headquarters Troop/1st Squadron, 1st US Cavalry Regiment, (1-1 US Cavalry is also known sometimes as the "Blackhawks" or the "1st Regiment of Dragoons") US 1st Armored Division or "Old Ironsides" at Armstrong Kaserne in Budingen, Hesse, Germany. My first assignment was the HHT Troop Training NCO. I then moved to the Light Recon Platoon, Lighthorse to serve as a gunner.
Lightning Troop, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, (Light) or the "2nd Regiment of Dragoons" (3-2 ACR(L) is also known as the "Wolfpack") at Ft. Polk, LA. There I served as an Anti-Armor BGM-71 TOW Missile Section Leader until I left active service.
I participated in the following deployments:
Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm while assigned to B/1-4 CAV, 1ID. The first IFOR mission to Bosnia & Herzegovina while assigned to HHT/1-1 CAV, 1AD. I caught the tail end of Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, then a short tour with SFOR in Bosnia & Herzegovina again while assigned to L/3-2 ACR(L). I ETS'd, (End Tour of Service) in June, 1997
I did one year in the National Guard assigned to Troop A, 108th CAV, 256th Infantry Brigade, Louisiana Army National Guard.
I now live in Katy, TX, (another suburb of Houston, TX).
