Massimo Marazzina (born 16 July 1974) is an Italian footballer, who plays as a striker for Bologna in Serie B.

[edit] Football career
Marazzina was born in Pandino, a city near Lodi in the Province of Cremona, playing youth football in a local team, Luisiana. He started his pro career in the Internazionale youth system, and made his Serie A debut on 27 February 1994, in a 0-2 away loss to A.C. Torino.
He transferred to U.S. Foggia while they were in Serie A, in 1994, and in 1995 followed the club into relegation into Serie B.
[edit] Chievo
In 1996, he was transferred to Chievo. In the 1999/2000 season, he scored sixteen goals for the club, one-third of the team's total goals. Noting his performance, Serie A team Reggina signed him to a season-long loan contract in 2000.
He returned to Chievo in 2001, scoring thirteen goals and helping the club reach fifth place and enter the UEFA Cup. He was also called up by the Italy national team during this period. He signed a 4-year extension of his contract at the start of the season 2002/03. [1]
In January 2003, he was loaned out to A.S. Roma to replace Gabriel Batistuta, who had left for Inter. [2] In July 2003, he was loaned out to newly promoted Sampdoria,[3] where he failed to be a regular starter, and was loaned out to Serie A team Modena in January 2004,[4] but failing to help the club avoid relegation.

In July 2004, he was transferred to Torino, scoring sixteen goals (once again, one-third of the team's goals) to help the club reach third place in Serie B, and also winning the promotion play-off against Ascoli and Perugia (scoring in second leg against Ascoli and first against Perugia). But Torino remained in Serie B because of its poor financial state, and all the Torino players were allowed to leave freely. Marazzina then joined Serie A team Siena. [5]

In January 2006, Marazzina signed for Bologna of Serie B. In half a season, he scored 8 goals. In 2006-07, he netted 12, along with Claudio Bellucci who scored 19, the partnership accounting for more than 50% of the teams'. After Bellucci's departure in 2007, he became the number one striker in Bologna, with Brazilian Adaílton becoming his new "sidekick".

Marazzina made his debut for Italy on 13 February 2002, in a friendly match won 1-0 against United States. He added another two caps.
