Malcolm A. Stewart

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malcolm Anthony Stewart, 23 March 1939, Essex, England. (M.A. Cantab., Royal Drawing Society Diploma)

Malcolm’s stained glass graces Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist environments … also palaces, pubs and private houses. He has been cartoonist, singer-songwriter, priest, BBC TV producer, Relief Aid Director and UN project coordinator. He produced the London event of the World Symposium on Humanity, and once circled the world directing a film on earth energies. He lectures throughout Europe and UK on symbol systems and is a teaching member of Arica Institute.

His stained glass is in palaces in London, Brunei and Oman, in private houses, pubs, restaurants and leisure centres throughout UK, in Surrey and Yorkshire churches, in a synagogue in Kingston and a mosque in Dubai.

There’s an outdoor mosaic at a conference centre in Sussex; and a custom-landscaped lake and island at a Tudor manor near Oxford.

He illustrated book jackets, posters, CD covers, company and personal logos and liveries, created a children's colouring book for the Esso Tiger campaign… done décor mirrors, tilings and lamps for design exhibitions and wine bars.

From Switzerland to California there are Sufis with a panel of the 99 Names of God adorning the walls of their dens.

The design source for almost all his work has been sacred geometry.

His work in the visual arts has been rounded out by varied careers: musician, priest, publishing editor, BBC and ITV producer, and NGO Refugee and Aid administrator.

He lectures and gives courses in the UK, Europe and North America on the classic liberal arts about which he is completing a book with original illustrations throughout.
