Interests: new-media journalism, truth in reporting, media transparency and accountability, fairness in writing the news through journalism ethics and standards, radio outreach, gender equality, human rights, civil rights, international peace, United Nations, Hague Appeal for Peace, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.
In 1978, Lys Anzia was the first woman on the programming board for Public TV Channel 12 KBDI in Denver, CO. She was co-creator of Colorado's networking magazine, "Nexus Magazine - Colorado's Holistic Journal" in 1980. After an early career in training for public radio broadcasting with Pacifica Radio station WPFW in Washington, DC, Lys continued her interest in radio at NPR affiliate station KGNU in Boulder, CO. In 2003, after writing for years as an historical American playwright , Lys' play, JACKS, was performed simultaneously at numerous theatre locations nationwide. Fremont Theatre in LA had one actor in the cast, F. William Parker, from NBC Primetime TV show, The West Wing, and one other star, Rob Moran, from NBC Network, Days of Our Lives. In late 2006, Lys was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in poetry. Today, Lys is working as a correspondent for the international radio syndicate WINGS and is also a contributing book review editor for Moondance magazine, a UNESCO award winning online magazine for women. For the last four years, she has been an active member of the Boulder Media Women, a professional group of over 370 women publishers, publicists, authors, editors, filmmakers, playwrights, TV & radio producers and writers. Today, Lys is also the director of the expanding global women's advocacy news network, Women News Network - WNN.
