[edit] Star Wars Battlefront
- I agree. You worded it much better than I was able to. Riffsyphon1024 02:21, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. I had the manual with me. -LtNOWIS 03:33, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Michael Vaughn's birthplace
I stand corrected, though if France hasn't actually been mentioned in an episode, it might be worth noting the source for the information, since it's always possible a future episode might contradict it. (I don't know what Abram's standing is re:canon; Star Trek, for example, discounts everything that isn't mentioned on screen, even official profiles. According to the official profile for Jack Bristow, he was born in Canada, but I don't think this has ever been confirmed on screen, either. 23skidoo 04:20, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] GRider and the Great LucasCruft Purge
Might I ask what the hell could GRider be doing by making all of these articles Vfds. I can agree that some could be merged, but others like the Repulsorlift article that I created, should not suffer the wave of Vfd that he has been applying. This is utter nonsense, and its forces me to defend all SW articles like I'm Everyking with his little Ashlee Simpson fetish. Comments? -- Riffsyphon1024 03:18, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)
-
- Well, you could talk to him. I don't know why he wants to nominate all these at once, instead of only a couple. But I guess we have little choice but to go to VfD and do a search of all instances of "Star Wars" on the page, and plead their cases. Is there a guideline/rule regarding someone's deletion requests per topic per day? If not, there should be. You could complain to an administrater about his completely unfair methods, but I'm content to just thwart them. I'll contact Shadowtrooper, and let him know the situation.-LtNOWIS 03:29, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
The Star Wars Wiki is now up and running at http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/Main_Page. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:06, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)

- I dunno. I'd really like to preserve the interlinkability and quality of having Star Wars stuff on Wikipedia. Like when you research the LAAT and there's a link to helicopter gunship. I guess we could use mirroring a lot. We'd be allowed to copy content back and forth freely, right?-LtNOWIS 16:35, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Supposedly, but all the minor stuff that is being Vfd'd in the Great Lucascruft Purge needs to be transwikied to the Wookieepedia. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:50, Mar 12, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] VfD
Hi LtNOWIS,
Please don't take down the VfD header from an article (Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Trade Federation PAC) while it's still being debated.
Cheers, dbenbenn | talk 18:02, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC). (P.S. I grew up in Reston!)
- And now its gone. I wanted this to be transwikied to the Star Wars Wiki. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:20, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, I thought the debating was done. How long does it usually last for, like a week? 10 days?-LtNOWIS 16:35, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter now. The admin temporarily reinstated it so I could copy the text and repost it at SWW. He doesn't like them to redirect however. He explained that the list of vehicles would be the place to direct to these articles at SWW. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:19, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Red vs Blue
Oh, really? It just seemed like vandalism to me. I guess it's just the way he put it. Well, sorry about that. bob rulz 04:19, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Star Wars Fictional Organisations
Do you want to help me finish them off EG Peace Brigade
[edit] Reston!
Thanks for the keep vote on Starfleet ranks and insignia. I'm South Lakes High School, Class of 1993! -Husnock 9 July 2005 06:17 (UTC)
- Cool! Anyways, the keep vote really was a no-brainer, compared to some of the other fancruft votes.-LtNOWIS 9 July 2005 06:20 (UTC)
[edit] Mace Windu's death
The official site is not the top authority on canon. Only the movies are. Adamwankenobi 20:25, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- Well, it's not top, but it's pretty far up there. It doesn't contradict the films, but rather confirms what they imply. Mace dies, according to Star Wars canon.-LtNOWIS 06:44, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Just a thought
This may not satisfy all of your needs, but if you don't show some support, we're not likely to get even this much. — Xiong熊talk* 10:47, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] re:Category:Wikipedians by D&D Alignment
I noticed you are categorized as a Wikipedian by alignment. If you are in to userboxes, there are now infoboxes available using a standard template. See the alignment category page for details. This is a copied announcement, please reply on My Talk Page or in the category talk if you have any questions. xaosflux Talk/CVU 18:49, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!
Thanking ye for the vandalism revert on my user page - much appreciated :) Barneyboo (Talk) 22:56, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- No problem. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It's always dubious when an anon edits a user page. -LtNOWIS 18:20, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Star Wars ship names
Hey, Nowis! I've read your comments on the aformentioned articles. Please explain your thinking more to me, as your definately have more experience than I. If necessary, I'll add a description for every ship: it's condensed history, commander, accomplishments, famous battles it was at, and where it was destroyed.
Thanks,
RelentlessRouge 11:42, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] List of Star Wars ships
Hello, Lt. Nowis. Check out List of Star Wars ships. I've only been working for a few hours, but if you could spend a few minutes of your invaluable time and check out how it is, it'd be great. Look at the Super Star Destroyer section. Thnx.
Cheers!

[edit] Naming the Civil War
You have worked on Naming the American Civil War within the last few months. I am stepping back from the article for a day or so to avoid an edit war. My request is that you consider stepping in to apply some peer pressure in the interest of civility, NPOV, assuming good faith, etc. It's up to you. -- Alarob 00:15, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reguarding Dha Werda
Hey thanks, I did actually think about that. It would probably be much more suited on Wookiepedia than on an encyclopedia hah. I'll link you to it once i move it. I'll put in the discussion to have it removed too. GunnerChief 09:04, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] questionable AFD for 'anal sex'
Thanks, LtNOWIS, this is my first AFD. I found it referred to in the article Ryan's Mom and didn't notice it was an actual redirect, although when I first visited the page it was recursive. Sartan 00:51, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, no problem. Also, vandalism page like that just speedied, instead of going on AfD. -LtNOWIS 00:54, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Stub placement
Hi there,
Tank you for your work stubsorting. I just wanted to tell you that it is customary to place the stug tagged at the bottom on the page, usually underneath the categories and the other languages, not in the body of the article unless its an expand section tag. Thanks--Thomas.macmillan 20:51, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. Yeah, I'm not used to doing it that way, but I'll keep that in mind. -LtNOWIS 02:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Born_To_Fly.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Born_To_Fly.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. [edit] DC Meetup notice
Greetings. There is going to be a Washington DC Wikipedia meetup on next Saturday, July 21st at 5pm in DC. Since you are listed in Category:Wikipedians_in_Virginia, I thought I'd invite you to come. I'm sorry about the short notice for the meeting. Hopefully we'll do somewhat better in that regard next time. If you can't come but want to make sure that you are informed of future meetings be sure to list yourself under "but let me know about future events", and if you don't want to get any future direct notices \(like this one\), you can list yourself under "I'm not interested in attending any others either" on the DC meetup page.--Gmaxwell 22:09, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Redirect of BlasTech
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on BlasTech, by Schutz (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because BlasTech is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting BlasTech, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:04, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Flag of Russian Empire in 1812
There was none. The one you removed depicts the official Imperial symbol of state, the double-headed eagle on the yellow background, and the red/white/blue cockade and sash colours (though these were discontinued shortly before in 1810).--mrg3105 (comms) ♠♥♦♣ 00:58, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
