"Love Gets Me Every Time" is a song by Canadian singer Shania Twain. It was the first country single from Shania Twain's 1997 album, Come on Over. The song was written by Mutt Lange and Shania Twain. Released in 1997, the single spent five weeks at number one on the Billboard Country Singles chart, becoming Shania's fifth number one on that chart, and to date has spent the most weeks at number one out of any of Shania's singles. The original title of the song was going to be "Gol Darn Gone and Done It", but the title was changed after Lange thought too many DJs would keep messing up the name.[citation needed] "Love Gets Me Every Time" was later included on the 2004 Greatest Hits package.
