The Los Angeles Riptide is a lacrosse team based in Carson, California. Since the 2006 season, they have played in Major League Lacrosse.

[edit] Franchise history
On March 9, 2005 MLL announced that Los Angeles would receive the first of the planned four western expansion teams for the 2006 season.
The Riptide's ownership group is the Anschutz Entertainment Group. This group also owns and operates Los Angeles Kings, Manchester Monarchs, Reading Royals, and, Houston Dynamo, Los Angeles Galaxy of the MLS. [1]
The first Los Angeles Ripide player was Michael Watson, who was selected with the top pick in the 2006 MLL expansion draft. [1]
