The 2008 Continental Champions League Final was the 28th final of the Continental Champions League, the winners being Pametrada for the 15th time, and for the fifth consecutive season. It was known for when highly favoured Pametrada conceded two early goals and one on the stroke of half time leaving Pametrada struggling to score.

[edit] First Half

Pametrada had a poor half, conceding a brace to Ken Delaney in the first 4 minutes, due to poor defending. Pametrada had appeared to have scored when John Luxton headed home, but the goal was wrongly disallowed and Pametrada were put even further adrift when Rudolf Mueller scored with a rebound. At half time, it was Pametrada 0, Seleya 3.

[edit] Second Half

Pametrada manager Mark Woodward changed tactics, and substituted injured wing-back Steve Cowin for defensive midfielder Alan Albiston, who would give playmaker John Luxton the freedom to attack from his position. Pametrada kicked off, and a quick succession of passes found John Luxton. Luxton slid the ball through to Pametrada's lone striker, James Lightoller, who scored with a 25 yard volley, and it seemed as if it would be just a consolation goal, but two minutes later, winger Keith Logan crossed into the box, and Lightoller scored again with a tap-in.

Seleya looked to be getting nervous, and gave away a free-kick on the edge of the box directly infront of goal. John Luxton made no mistake in sending the ball home to make things square. The game had seemed to slow down, until Pametrada made a second substitute, bringing on 6 foot 5 inch striker John Underhill for Bergen international Paul Murdoch, who immediately caused problems in the Seleya defence. In the 69th minute, clever play from Luxton won a corner for Pametrada, and the excellently taken corner was met by Underhill's head and powered a header in from the middle of the penalty area, making it seem Pametrada had come back out to win the game.

Lightoller scored again, this time with a header from a free-kick taken by centre-back Paul Duggan, sparking wild scenes of celebrations from the Pametrada fans. To cap it off, Lightoller scored again in the 76th minute with a volley. The game died down, with the tired Seleya players doing everything to make the scoreline stick the way it was.

[edit] Cup Presentation

Referee Colin Wallace presented Pametrada captain James Lightoller with the trophy in front of the Pametrada supporters, for the first time. Lightoller and the team paraded the cup around the stadium whilst their fans were allowed onto the pitch to celebrate with the team. It has been known to be one of the most exhilarating finals, and the final with the most goals in since Snaefell's 7-1 (8 goals) victory over Pametrada in 2002.

Logan International (full name: Logan International Airlines) is an international airline founded in 2006 by English businessman James Logan, who owns all of the airline's shares. The company is known as one of the cheapest and value for money airlines in the world, ranked 7th best airline of the year last year.

The company utilises Airbus and Boeing aircraft for long haul flights and various smaller aircraft for short haul flights. The company's "first first" occured when Logan International had the first Embraer 1000 delivered into commercial service on February 19, 2008.

The airline is on friendly terms with Euromanx and Ledenair, being codeshare partners with both airlines. The airline has stated it has no intentions of joining an alliance, denying rumours of joining Skyteam.

[edit] 2008 Rebranding

In 2007, the company revealed that "big changes" were on the way. This would include a new livery, renaming of lounges, aircraft and classes. The new livery consists of white, gold, dark red and black. The "Logan Club" was renamed to "Superflyer".

[edit] Superflyer

Superflyer is the frequent flyer program of Logan International. It has been rated the best frequent flyer program for short haul flights, offering anything up to 40% of flight costs and free access to the member lounges. "Platinum Class" was renamed to "First" and the lounges have been renamed to their respective airport names.

[edit] First

First is the member lounge and first class of Logan International. It is currently avaiable on long and medium haul only, as the company is still in the process of designing layouts for a possible first class short-haul aircraft. The company has said "it'll definately happen".
