The Logitech Driving Force GT is an imitation steering wheel intended for use with racing games on the PlayStation 3. It is manufactured and distributed by Logitech International S.A of Romanel-sur-Morges, Switzerland.[1]
Developed in conjunction with Polyphony Digital, first introduced at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show and intended for use with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the Driving Force GT is the fifth entry in the company's Driving Force series of game controllers and is the official steering wheel of the Gran Turismo game franchise.
Features include weighted, 900° steering (2.5 turns lock-to-lock) via a full-sized, MOMO-styled steering wheel and full-sized accelerator and brake pedals.
Added realism is in the form of real-time adjustment of both brake bias and traction control when playing Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Users may select gears either via a Formula 1 paddle shifter on the steering wheel or sequential gear shift on the "dashboard" to the right of the wheel. The company's so-called "Force Feedback" technology adds additional realism via simulated, real-time "road feel" through the steering wheel.
Connection to the PS3 is via any one of that console's four USB ports. It will be widely available in May 2008 at a retail price of US$149.99.
