George Frederick Ives (November 17, 1881 – April 12, 1993) was the last surviving veteran of the Boer War.
Born in England, he fought for the British in South Africa. He later emigrated to Canada, where he died at the age of 111.
His record as oldest British veteran of any war was broken on November 1, 2007 by First World War veteran Henry Allingham.

Sister Anne Adèle Samson (February 27, 1891 – November 29, 2004) is known as the oldest nun to have ever lived and Canada's oldest person until she died. Sister Anne was born in River Bourgeois on Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island. Due to a clerical error, it was believed for some time that she was born February 5, but not long afterwards her original baptismal entry from 1891 was found, confirming the February 27 date.
Sister Anne became the oldest-known Canadian at age 111, following the passing of fellow 111-year-old Evangeline Saulnier (September 11, 1890 - March 19, 2002).
She became the oldest nun on record on May 4, 2003, surpassing the 112 years and 65 days mark set by Augustine Teissier (Sister Julia) of France (January 2, 1869 - March 8, 1981).
By mid-2004 she had entered the top ten of oldest living persons in the world and ranked seventh among validated claims by the time she died the following November at the Filles de Jesus (Daughters of Jesus) care home in Moncton, New Brunswick at age 113.
Upon her death, fellow 113-year-old Julie Winnefred Bertrand took her place as the oldest living Canadian.

Angeline Barrette (December 10, 1896 – February 28, 2007) of Quebec was the oldest validated living person in Canada for a mere month from the death of Julie Winnefred Bertrand on January 18, 2007 until her own passing. According to the Gerontology Research Group, she was succeeded by fellow 110-year-old Mary Anne Scoles of Treherne, Manitoba.[1][2]

Mary Anne Straube Scoles (December 25, 1896 – July 23, 2007) was the oldest validated living person in Canada since the death of fellow 110-year-old Angeline Barrette on February 28, 2007. She lived in Treherne, Manitoba.[1][3][4]
