KNSU (91.5 FM "The Edge") is a campus radio station licensed to Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The station mainly programs Alternative rock aimed at a college aged crowd, however the station does also play R&B in the form of rap in some shows aired on the station. It claims on it's myspace page to be the "last totally student run college station in Louisiana" [1]
[edit] History
The station was originally known as KVFG, a 10 watt station broadcasting on 91.5 FM which allowed only for on campus and surrounding neighborhood area coverage. In 1992, The station was granted a construction permit which they used to increase coverage to the surrounding regional area and was licensed in 1996 as a higher powered 250 Watt ERP and 45 meters of tower height station from their campus.
