User talk:Kintetsubuffalo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am taking a short Wikibreak while getting settled in Japan. This is not a license for the vandals to start up, be warned.

Welcome to my talk page.
House Rules
  1. I may or may not respond to a post you make here on this page.
  2. If I revert or remove your post from my page, it could be that I do not find the discussion germane to me, I will try to respond, but if I don't, you will survive, I'm sure. Alternately it could be that I find something in the posting to be preachy or pedantic, in which case I will simply revert or remove your post. I am getting ready to go live in Japan, and if I hit one button rather than another, on my own talk page, I am a 2 1/2 year editor, not some vandal, and really don't need to be roasted. In the words of Jimbo Wales, I'm a good contributor, and so cutting me some slack is a very reasonable thing to do.
  3. This is not your talk page, this is my talk page, and I do not allow edit wars on here. If you are a legal positivist, if the "rules" of Wikipedia in your mind overrule respect for the privacy and pages of others, you have your own talkpage which is your own playground to do exactly what you wish. This is not it, and you are not welcome to it.
  4. Friends and colleagues are most welcome, and none of the above is meant for you.

Effective immediately, any visitor to this talk page may delete any "Image rationale" bot notification at will (specifically any and all messages from Betacommandbot and related bots), once they have dealt with the warning. I have no desire to archive them, so they may be deleted once addressed.

[edit] WikiProject Law Enforcement Barnstar Proposal Poll

--Mifter (talk) 20:37, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 06:58, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Join the new Moldovan Wines project !

Hello, I don't know if you are from Moldova or not, but maybe you will be interested in development of the Moldovan Wine articles. If yes, I am pleased to invite you to join it on the Project:MoldovanWines project page. Best regards,--serhio talk 09:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] You rock

Sorry to hear about your loss. Now where'd I put that "Badass Barnstar"? Love your take on this place, far too much seriousness and lawyering going on. This post will self destruct in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. or not. Dhatfield (talk) 22:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Saw you at the Graphics Lab. Dhatfield (talk) 16:09, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:OSMK membership badge.svg

New version is up; how is it?--HereToHelp (talk to me) 22:33, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I thought I had made the starts centered but I guess not. Should the colors be the same ones from the flag?--HereToHelp (talk to me) 13:47, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I've made some small changes, but what do you mean by the "grey band"?--HereToHelp (talk to me) 14:13, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Assistance and a second set of eyes

I've probably got myself into another debate here that isn't worth my time, but please review my edits and my discussions at Südtiroler Pfadfinderschaft. I am quite knowledgeable on this region and I tried to update the wikilinks while clarifying the historical context. The user Jergen reverted the edits, made nonsense claims in the talk section, and stated that since the article is about a German scouting group, that the terms should be in German (!?!). My understanding of Wikipedia policy is that we update wikilinks and always maintain English usage. Anyway, I don't want an edit war, I hope we can have some simple discussions on the talk page. If I'm wrong about something I'm happy to hear it and be corrected (hopefully with logic :). I personally thought I did a good job at updating the links and also clarifying a bit why the certain terms are used and also that the province of Bolzano/Bozen is part of the southern area of the historical count of Tyrol. Alto Adige and especially South Tyrol are more recent colloquial terms. cheers, Icsunonove (talk) 23:03, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, I´m back

Hello Chris, I worked again on Boy Scouts of the United Nations and Scouting in displaced persons camps. Espacially on their involvement in the Jamborees of 1947 and 1951. There was a troop of the Boy Scouts of the United Nations in Bad Ischl from USA and Switzerland. Vienna 88 (International Scout group) still wears the badge and scarf shown in the article. I hope you are fine. Best wishes. Yours in Scouting-Phips (talk) 16:17, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Colour version of West Indies Coat of Arms

Hey there. Noticed you were the one to put in the coat of arms image for the West Indies Federation page. Just thought you might be interested in knowing that there's a colour version of those arms at www.westindiaregiment.org - just check the sidebar to the left. Perhaps it could be copied from the site with permission?

Oh and from the site where this black and white version was taken from it seems that the flag in the article is wrong - the sun symbol in the centre should be orange-red as it was originally, not yellow (although I'm not sure if you had anything to do with the flag).72.27.161.159 (talk) 01:29, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
