From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kent Carlsson (born January 3, 1968 in Eskilstuna, Sweden) is a former tennis player from Sweden, who won nine single titles during his professional career and earned career prize money totaling $998,956.
The right-hander Carlsson reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on September 19, 1988, when he became the World Number 6. He was a baseline player known for hitting high-arcing groundstrokes with excessive topspin on both his forehand and his two-handed backhand. Both because of that playing style and because of chronic knee problems, he played almost exclusively on clay courts.
