KBIU (103.3 FM, "Jack FM") is a radio station broadcasting an Adult hits format. Licensed to Lake Charles, Louisiana. The station is currently owned by Cumulus Media.
[edit] History
The station switched to its current KBIU call sign in 1981 and had most recently been a Hot AC format known as B103 The B until the station was flipped to a variety hits format under the Jack FM branding in May of 2008.
The station was originally located at the frequency of 103.7 and broadcasted at 100,000 watts from a 150 meter tower originally allowing for a great area coverage allowing it to also cover the Beaumont, Texas area.
The station was downgraded in power, height, and frequency from 103.7 to 103.3 in 2005 by it's current owner Cumulus Media in a attempt to allow for KHJK to be re-aligned as a Houston,Texas rimshot station.
