Kiddinan Sivanesan (January 21, 1957 - March 6, 2008) was an ethnic Tamil Sri Lankan Member of Parliament (MP) from Jaffna. He belonged to the TNA a pro LTTE party and he was a critic of Rajapakse government's war against the LTTE. He was killed on March 6, 2008 by a roadside bomb near Killinochchi in LTTE controlled area in northern Sri Lanka while he was returning to his house in Mallaavi. The LTTE and other TNA MPs alleged that it was carried out by a Sri Lanka Army Deep Penetration Unit[1][2], the Army has denied the allegation[3].
K. Sivanesan had alleged that he had been harassed by Sri Lankan Army earlier[4]. January that year a non-cabinet minister & MP D. M. Dassanayake was also killed in a similar roadside bombing in Ja-Ela, twelve miles north of Colombo, the government blamed the LTTE for the killing.
