I learn therefore I am.

I'm a woman from Germany. I have a huge interest in languages, politics, history, philosophy and Judo. I can speak German, English, Esperanto, Latin, French and Italian, and I'm learning Modern Greek and Chinese. Besides I'm studying Linguistics, so I know how to say a few things in most languages and I'm aware of language structure.

One of my big projects is www.sprachprofi.de.vu where I collect all kinds of material that may help people to learn a foreign language for free. I also teach Latin there. If you know a resource I didn't mention, please don't hesitate to tell me.

I like World music, but especially music that mixes styles or languages. A small list of songs that imho succeeded in doing so (please suggest more, using the Talk page):

  • Desert Rose by Sting & Cheb Mami (English and Arabic)
  • A thousand years by Sting & Mariza (English and Portuguese)
  • Τρέλος για σένα (Mad about you) by Sting & Dalaras (English and Greek)
  • Terre d'oru (Fields of gold) by Sting & I Muvrini & Pyx Lax (English and Corsican and Greek)
  • Vivo per lei (various versions) by Andrea Boccelli and others (Italian and French/German/Spanish/others)
  • A united world I by Alan Stivell and Youssou N'Dour (Breton and Wolof)
  • Pena by I Muvrini and Pyx Lax (Corsican and Greek)

My first large project on Wikipedia was adding lots of information to the List of country name etymologies. Currently I'm working at a section on Roman culture. I also created a page on Sacrer, the French-Quebecois way of swearing.
