The Spielberg Homage

It's widely known that Spielban's name is a tribute to Steven Spielberg. Look up any Japanese Spielban fan site and it's likely to be mentioned there. It doesn't take a genius to look at the katakana and figure it out, even: スピルバン, スピルバーグ. Spielberg's one of the big three American filmmakers that the Japanese adore (the other two being George Lucas and Tim Burton), so don't act like it's so implausible for them to name a superhero in honor of him, especially when thinking of the '80s, when films like E.T. and Raiders of the Lost Ark made a lasting impression on audiences.

As far as metal heroes are concerned, the influences goes back to even Gavan, when Retsu had to outrun a giant boulder. I suppose that has absolutely nothing to do with Raiders of the Lost Ark, though.

There's far more information here that's inaccurate or just plain pointless. I'm not making sh*t up, there's better things to do. I try to help rid misinformation and inform people on pieces of trivia they may not be aware of, since this fandom is a small and odd niche. And that's increasingly difficult to do when there's people here who think they're the sole authority, who most likely haven't even seen many of these shows they're "correcting" the corrections for, who would rather delete accurate contributions because they're uncertain and not full informed.

[edit] Spielban Monster Confirmation

After many years of searching, I finally located to some Spielban episodes w/ the help of a couple of friends here and there. They are Brazilian or Portuguese dubbed (foreign languages are not my speciality :(, i cannot tell them apart ) As I try to gather as many episodes as I can, I hope to finally shed some light on the Spielban monsters that everyone has been looking for, and help the VR TRooper fans too. First three confirmed monsters: MechaShoulder = Spiderbot. It was never 'Shoulderbot' as many of us originally believed. And MechaBander = Laserbot. MechaJouka was neither Diskbot or Mechanoid. It was an unnamed robot used on VRT whose image I have on my PC, but haven't posted. I'll try hard to help out like I have been. Thanks for the support. Pitstain 02:27, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Redpython.JPG

Image:Redpython.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
