[edit] eruption of Thera c. 1628 BC

Someone wrote: Some scientists correlate this event with a volcanic winter, possibly due to the eruption of Thera c. 1628 BC Who are those some scientists and where did they publish this theory?? Thanks Guss2 14:03, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Literally addition of Bamboo Annals

Hello! What is the use of adding the literally translation of the entry of Jie from the Bamboo Annals to this article? It makes the article a mess because no single name has been explained and no simgle event has been put in context. They all are mentioned in just the same cryptic way as the bamboo annals do. Therefore I think these additions should be rewritten by comparing them with Shiji (chapter 3 on Yin) and subsequently a running story should be made from both sources. If not, then I think the additions as they are in the article now can better be removed. Guss2 23:11, 9 June 2007 (UTC).

By the way there is a good translation of Bamboo Annals by Legge, James. Maybe it is a good idea to use that translation. It will save a lot of work and will certainly improve the English used now. Guss2 12:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Hi, originally the article said like this after the name: "nothing else is known about this King", which I think is simply not true, since we have at least 2 sources from Record of the Grand Historian and Bamboo Annals. I think it is a good idea to rewrite the article combining these two sources, but I strongly disagree to remove these. We already know so little about Xia, why would we eliminate the only information that is available? At least it is helpful if someone like to find something about those Xia kings.Dongwenliang 22:24, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
