Jayhawk Collegiate League

The Jayhawk Collegiate League is a summer baseball league consisting of six teams from four Kansas and two Missouri towns. The league was formed in 1976 and is a "Premier League" within the National Baseball Congress.
It currently includes the following teams:
- Kansas: El Dorado Broncos, Liberal BeeJays (named after Ban Johnson), Derby Twins, Hays Larks, and the Dodge City A's.
- Missouri: Nevada Griffons and Joplin's Southwest Slashers.
The Twins and Southwest Slashers are new to the league in 2005. The Larks have been league champions for five of the past six years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2006.
Well-known alumni of the league include Lance Berkman, Bud Black, Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, and Ozzie Smith.
Jayhawk League former teams: Amarillo Texans (1986-93), Elkhart Dusters (1975-2004), Topeka Capitals (1993-2003), Elk City Elkes (1994-2002) and Enid, Oklahoma Red Sox (1995-2003).
