From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tag has been placed on Megameetings, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --W ooty Woot? contribs 05:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Constant reinsertion of promotional material despite warnings

This is your last warning. The next time you insert blatant advertising into articles, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent advertisers may have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. yandman 09:22, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You have been blocked

[edit] Your continued promotion of MegaMeeting

Please do not add unhelpful and non-constructive information to Wikipedia, as you did to Web conferencing. If you continue to do so, it may be considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Ronz 20:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unblock request

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "I do not understand. I see 4 other companies providing information and links back to their sites. Polycom, Radivision, GotoMeeting are just a few to mention. I would like to know how you decide who can place a link and who can not. I do not see a difference. Please advise."

Decline reason: "This template is for use ONLY on your own user talk page and only when you are currently blocked. You are not currently blocked. --  Netsnipe  ►  04:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

I've just blocked you for 5 minutes. You've made a post at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard, so wait patiently for a response. Do not continue posting {{unblock}} notices on every other administrator's talk page. It is disruptive. --  Netsnipe  ►  04:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Videoconferencing again

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Videoconferencing do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Veinor (talk to me) 23:53, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 01:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spam

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Vidoconferencing. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Geoffrey Spear 01:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Note to Jasonrichmond: you don't seem to understand that companies Can have pages in wikipedia, but pure "advertising" pages are not allowed - the presentation of the company must be in a neutral, encyclopedic manner. As if you looked them up in an encyclopedia, or a listing of businesses put out by a non-involved party (chamber of commerce, etc). The existing links in Videoconferencing are not links to pages of advertising, they're links to things like an archive of whitepapers from multiple sources, and other generally-useful and non-advertising content. Please go read WP:EL to get a better understanding - an external link does not have to meet all Wikipedia page requirements (WP:NPOV for example), but there are guidelines to what is appropriate and what is not.
If you want to add Megameeting, you're going to have to be much more careful to follow the style that other company wiki pages are done in, especially given your history now. And it will have to be under a different name, or create it here (in a sub-page, like User:Jasonrichmond/Megameeting) and then ask an admin to remove the creation-block after looking at the new page you want to add. — jesup 01:26, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
