James Monie (born November 18, 1982 in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian football (soccer) player. He previously played as a striker for the Australian A-League club Newcastle United Jets.
James was recently in Indonesia where he had a number of trials with some of the local football clubs. During this time he was dossing down with the Welsh Mafia in Jakarta. He also became a fixture in some of the bars around the local area and will be sorely missed by all who met him during his short time there.
During his stint in Jakarta he became known as the 'Gypo' due to his unkempt appearance and general penchant for casual surfwear at all times.
On January 25, 2008 He had his contract with Manly United torn up after receiving a second DUI charge.ยน He then signed with Bankstown City Lions FC for the upcoming season.
