Itamar Danziger (born January 20, 1981) is a Canadian-Israeli composer and social worker.
[edit] As Composer
He has studied with Srul Irving Glick, Michael Leibson and Michael Damian. His composition style is somewhere between Classical, Folk, Jazz, Ethnic Balkan and Klezmer. [1]
Recently, Itamar Danziger had several of his pieces played in Tel Aviv, Israel (April 3rd, 2008), at a concert labeled "Canadian Jewish Music"[2],[3]. Another major performer, the IDF Military Band, performed a piece of his [4], in 2005.
His music is often played at Bar-Ilan University and some of his works are catalogued in their musicology department [5]. Occasionally, Itamar's music is performed in the US and Canada [6]. Most of his compositions are written for small ensembles. Itamar uses only classical instrumentations in his compositions.
As Itamar is both a composer and a social worker, he splits his time between the two professions[7].
[edit] As Social Worker
Itamar Danziger runs a social work knowledge building online community. It could be found on: http://www.geocities.com/zuz.mepo [8]. Though initially an internal Bar Ilan University online community, it is now also used by the Israeli Social Worker's Association, as well as Social Workers, and Social Work students from all Universities in Israel as well as social sciences students around the world. Itamar Danziger holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Social Work, both from Bar Ilan University.
The name "Zuz Mepo" is a gimmick in Hebrew.
