Hugh Drysdale
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Colonel Hugh Drysdale[1] (d. July 22, 1726)[2] was a British Colonial Governor of Virginia.[3] More officially, his title was Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief of the Colony and Dominion of Virginia.[4] He served as governor from September 1722, until his death in July 1726.[5]
Because of the relative peace and calm that marked his time as governor, comparatively little is known about him today.[6] He is generally held to have been a just and competent leader,[7] though some have questioned his ability to govern.[8]
