[edit] Cheney
The Dick Cheney Protest is completely out of place in this article. I'm removing it until someone can find somewhere better to put it. Making a section in this article discussing political activism at BYU would be much more productive. BYU is known for refusing to allow certain types of political gatherings and protests on campus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.206.44.10 (talk) 18:25, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree. Exactly how is this event out of place? Earlier in this article, a similar political event that occurred on BYU, the evolution incident of the early 1900s, is discussed. Since the article goes in chronological order, it doesn't really make sense to make a "political section". It would throw off the order of things. Rather than deleting it, I would suggest you create such a section yourself within the main BYU article. Besides, this article will soon expand and the Dick Cheney issue will take up less "Recent events" space. Please don't delete it, then, as it belongs here in the long run, even by your own admission. Also, feel free to create your own political section. I, for one, though, think the BYU article has been overly politicized and needs more cold hard facts. Wrad 05:41, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

- I temporarily renamed the section "Recent political events". Hopefully this helps. Again, once the recent events section expands, it will fit better. I may add a bit about the gay rights group that tried to protest, etc. Just bear with me and understand that deleting the section is not the answer, expansion is. Once this article gets bigger, then maybe we can split the politics into a new article Political history of BYU or something. Wrad 06:30, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] athletic protests
Why is there no mention of the athletic protests in 1969-70? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.251.228.206 (talk) 05:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
