[edit] Re: Vanessa Carlton Navbox.
Well, I didn't know about Template:Navbox musical artist, but my edits were to bring the article into line with Template:NavigationBox, which seems much more widely used than the musical artist one. Also, a large number of musician templates (e.g. Template:Jessica Simpson) use that format; when discussing stylistic matters on Wikipedia, whether something is "pretty" or not (a pretty subjective term) is of less importance than, say, user-friendliness. I won't revert for now - there should be a centralised discussion about this somewhere - but I wanted to make my rationale for changing it clear.
Also, song titles don't go in italics. Extraordinary Machine 17:19, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, well someone else decided to revert, and I won't revert them for the above reasons, and also I don't like reverting other people... Extraordinary Machine 17:34, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
-
- The point I'm making is that the musical artist navbox is inconsistent with most of the other standard navigation templates used on Wikipedia - all I'm trying to do is establish some consistency. And I'm afraid that "gross", "funny" and "awesome" are not good reasons to start editing against established precedent. There really needs to be a centralised discussion about this, not an isolated revert war. Extraordinary Machine 23:16, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows.jpg removed from your user page
An image or media file, Image:Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows.jpg, has been removed from your userpage or user talk page because it was licensed as fair use. Wikipedia's fair use policy states that fair use images should only be used in the article namespace. As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's fair use policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of fair use images. [edit] AfD attention request
Not sure if this is out of order, but there's a somewhat contentions AfD (here) that has received little outside attention. Since the AfD was initiated, a number of single purpose accounts (likely sockpuppets) have started editing (and discussing on the talk page) the article; not !voting, fortunately. In any case, I wanted to see if some AfD regulars could stop by and weigh in. I'm not looking to sway !votes here—I haven't targeted deletionists; I'm asking editors that seem to !vote a lot on music-related AfDs. No reply is necessary but your opinion is valued. [edit] Requests
Heyy Ippy!
Forgive me for asking, but do you take requests for userboxes?
Thanks ;]

Re:Re: Excellent! First of all thank you =]. I have but one request atm, its a bit childish but i guess im that kinda guy- but I would like a userbox that has a picture of a toilet, thats right, and text next to it that reads 'this user never misses the bowl' on a dark blue background. Feel free to decline should you deem it too childish, etc. Many thanks =] Benzin 16:00, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bourne image
Hello,
I removed the Bourne poster from your userpage. As you are the uploader that provided the fair-use rationale, you should know that the image can only be used legally on an article illustrating the subject in question. Thanks for supplying the image for the movie page, though. Happy editing! Keegantalk 20:26, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Music
Hi! i am wondering about the reason why you deleted the soundtrack of the gossip girls episodes. it's, for me at least, a great idea to have the songs and artists in the wikipedia page because i love some songs and i can´t find their names in the official site. is there a problem with legal rights or something??? i put then back on, with respect, and hope that who put them continues to do so!thank u for your time! [edit] Scrolling ref lists
Please don't use scrolling reference lists; see WP:CITE#Scrolling reference lists. There are many issues with them. — TKD::Talk 13:57, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- That's okay; it was well-intentioned. Since you didn't object, I went ahead and used rollback to take care of the most of the remaining lists, since my browser seems slow otherwise this morning. Happy editing. — TKD::Talk 14:09, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Maroon 5
Is there any particular reason you changed the formatting of the albums in this article? It takes up the same amount of space now, it just lists less information and doesn't look as good. Lara❤Love 12:22, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- My edit wasn't about space, but content.Well, as you know, the previous version only listed the two albums and details about the albums. I thought that all that info about sales etc was kind of pointless, seeing that there's a discography page anyway. I added singles because, there wasn't a list before, and singles are quite important too, I suppose. Lots of musician pages do this too - see Delta Goodrem or Britney Spears. — *Hippi ippi 12:48, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- The previous version listed their two studio albums, in addition to the certification and sales stats, it also included the singles. The live albums are, for the most part, just live versions of Songs About Jane, so I left those to be listed in the main discography. As far as other articles, there's many different formats for doing this and examples of other articles for each, none of which are endorsed as superior by the style guide, so it's really left to editor preference. With that in mind, considering I've been working on this article for months and took it to GA, that's why I asked. Lara❤Love 12:58, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, so I take it that you want it reverted. — *Hippi ippi 13:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- I do because, personally, I don't like that format. I don't think it looks good, no offense to you or anything like that, I know lots of articles use that format. Infobox discography is a fairly new template, I believe, and not widely used, but I think it looks good and may catch on at some point. But I don't own the article, so I'm not going to just revert good faith edits that fall within policy and guidelines. I did just want to discuss the edits with you, though. I could bring it up on the talk page and go for a consensus on the matter, but I don't think many people watch that page, and it doesn't get much traffic. Lara❤Love 13:23, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Did you read this? — *Hippi ippi 13:32, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- You know what, I actually had not read that. Odd, I normally do read template page instructions. Well, damn. I hate wikitables, lol. Alright. Well, thanks for pointing that out. I have a discography to go completely redo... hours of work wasted on that because I failed to read the page first! Arg. Thanks, Lara❤Love 13:51, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] hi there...about "Blackout"
I reverted the page because that HUGE list of contributers was unnecessary and made the page look bad - it finally got to a good point. I'm happy to have a "history" section but that should be up top with "album info", in the new page layout not down at the bottom, with the ugly old layout. PatrickJ83 23:24, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
-
- I'm not simply removing information - others re-wrote the page and the unattractiveness of the page was discussed. I reverted it to the more attractive style and re-did the "Album History" section at the top. You like? I think it looks good and provides concise information. :) PatrickJ83 23:31, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- Did further work on it - expanded album history section. You like? PatrickJ83 23:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm trying to be friendly with you. If you take a look at the page now, the information presented is clear and concise. The old page was overlong, poorly done and confusing. Now, all the relevant information about the album's production history, release dates, and leaks are presented at the top. See "Confessions On a Dance Floor"'s page for a similar style. PatrickJ83 23:41, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well once the album is OUT, one may add the 'personnel' section, etc etc etc. But I think the article as it stands looks darn good as is, considering it's not yet out. :) PatrickJ83 23:50, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grey's Anatomy
Did you mean to replace the controversies section in the Grey's article? I removed that as it simply repeats what's in section 4! Just thought it was worth checking with you :-) Docta247 11:01, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I was logged in, see [1] - I think you may have been responding to a different change. That page is confusing me right now as there's a very vocal user adding an unsourced NPOV section and causing a lot of noise! Docta247 11:06, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Gossip Girl
Hi there, this reverting of Spouses is getting very annoying. But the Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen articles should have their relationships listed under spouses since it will follow the format of other fictionist characters such Meredith Grey" page, "Marissa Cooper" page, "Betty Suarez", since they have all of their relationships listed under "Spouses" as well. These fictionist characters hook-ups, infatuations, ex-boyfriends/girlfriends are all listed under SPOUSES, and they're not necessary married. There wouldn't be any problems if the relationships of Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen just be listed under Spouses as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cuddlecakes (talk • contribs) 19:35, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Home & Away external links
Hello, You removed a external link again, If you read http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Home_and_Away&action=edit§ion=16 it says that those links are final (the link directory site was there when that was written up) also, the talk section of that page. You will notice the link goes directly to a weblinks directory. Chris 212 10:10, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
You will notice the warning notice was put there with the 3 links, The Five & Seven sites and Baylinks site. Also it was linked to a links directory on that site, which, on the page you gave to me (External Links policy) It states link directories, which that site is, can be there. And "On articles about topics with many fansites, including a link to one major fansite may be appropriate". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:NOT#LINK. It does not say that the link must be official, this discussion was had once before, that's why the note was put there to not change the links. Chris 212 10:10, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

The page has gone through some major changes in the last few months, and it would be fantastic if a prominent editor/contributor like yourself, could head over and give us at the Heroes Wikiproject some sound opinion and ideas on improvements for the page. We have all worked very hard at improving the page, and we need great outside, reliable and trustworthy users to come over and help us improve. I you are interested in joining the peer review discussion with other prominent users/contributors, much like yourself, please follow the link.
