Harry Blaney

Harry Blaney (born February 1928) is a retired Irish Independent Fianna Fáil politician. He was a TD for the constituency of Donegal North East. Blaney was first elected to Dáil Éireann in the 1997 General Election to a seat formerly held by his brother, the long-serving and controversial Neil Blaney until his death in 1995. Harry Blaney retired aged 74 at the 2002 General Election after serving one term. At that time he and Liam Burke shared the distinction of being the oldest serving TDs. Harry was succeeded by his son Niall Blaney. Harry is a son of Neal Blaney who was a TD from 1927 to 1948.
