Hapless Hero is a male high school student Wikipedian.

Hapless Hero is widely considered to be the least considered person in the entire continental United States. He is of Taiwanese lineage, and has actually been called a "stereotypical Asian," something that, while it does not bring him immense pleasure, is probably at least wholly correct.

His real life consists mainly of using his Fedora Linux box to do various devious deeds including write on Wikipedia; playing the cello in chamber groups and in GBYSO, a youth symphony orchestra; and writing fiction, usually fantasy and including several unfinished novels.

His high school life consists of school, basically.

The name came about when the user was playing Mario Party 4 and was playing a mini-game involving rooms in which there were two doors, one containing Bowser and the other containing the next room, in which the object was to progress through as many doors as possible without encountering Bowser. Titles were awarded based on the number of rooms progressed, and much to the user's dismay, he incorrectly guessed the door which would allow the character to traverse through to the next door on the very first try, thereby reducing the upper limit of his score to a rather pitiful zero. The title he received was "Hapless Hero."

Since then he has taken this name to heart, and even though the incident with the video game is not one he will draw upon in his later life for inspiration, story weaving, comfort, redemption, enjoyment, glory, nor any other possible use, he remembers it fondly as the first time he was truly called by what he was inside, not what he appeared to be (and possibly the only time in his life he would ever be called a "hero" of any sort).
