[edit] India (mainland)
- Northernmost Point — Dafdar in the Taghdumbash Pamir near Beyik Pass in Kanjut in Jammu and Kashmir ¹
- Southernmost Point — Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari), Tamil Nadu
- Westernmost Point — West of Ghuar Mota, Gujarat
- Easternmost Point — Kibithu, Arunachal Pradesh
¹ India's northernmost point is disputed. The Karakoram Pass north of the Siachen Glacier is the northernmost point presently under Indian control. However, India claims the entirety of Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of the accession of the whole of the erstwhile Kashmir state to India, which inter-alia includes Gilgit, Baltistan and Kanjut, the northernmost point of which is Dafdar in the Taghdumbash Pamir near Beyik Pass. The 1909 map of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir depicted in the Jammu and Kashmir article does in fact depict the Taghdumbash Pamir as part of the erstwhile Kashmir state. See Kashmir conflict for details.
