[edit] Feed Me Bubbe

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Feed Me Bubbe. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Featured now in Wall Street Journal and ABC World News right now the page says it's been deleted before I want to see if it now has enough notability now to be created and if not what does the group judge that also needs to be done to make notable. Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place, new to all of this. Chalutz 14:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fail2ban

I'm interested in seeing a Fail2ban article, and I found that you had previously decided to delete the Fail2ban article back in March. You sighted that the program was not "groundbreaking," and I strongly disagree with that claim. Fail2ban is very different from DenyHosts and BlockHosts in that it modifies the Firewall rules to effect the IP blocking. --Eric R. Meyers (Ermeyers) (talk) 14:37, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of my page

I am not pleased at you deleting my page. I put a lot of work into it. Do you only delete queers pages? --angelus dolorum - irish bdsm writer and poet 04:02, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hey

Nice to see ya here. It appears to be stuck in limbo at wikibooks:Transwiki:Probability derivations for making low hands in Omaha hold 'em. I don't think it should have actually been deleted off here until it was fully transwiki'ed, though. I'll restore it if you want, or you can do it, whatever :) ~ Riana 05:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Yup, done. ~ Riana 05:37, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Doug, you seem like a balanced and fair guy...

I'm trying to both get a deletion undone and a copy of the source code. The page in question is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tealeaf and it was deleted hours ago by what looks to be a net-new administrator without any warning.

I check the site regularly and we were in process of some changes, so this is all out of the blue. We continually fend off competitive postings when egregious, but I have allowed links to their entry for fairness.

Can you take a look into this, I'd love a copy of the page to start working on a repost and the admin who deleted it doesn't have talk functional... ?

thanks, dave —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidewart (talk • contribs) 23:25, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Doug Bell has not been very active lately so please pardon my posting here pending him seeing this. You can reach the administrator who made the deletion at User talk:Alasdair and request that he either restore the article or let you have the text. You could also feel free to query his reason for deletion, as I am not sure I completely follow it. Hope this helps. Newyorkbrad 23:29, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Brad, I appreciate the comment here, I posted to the admin's page as well as yours in an attempt to get this reconsidered ASAP. davidewart 12 October 2007 (UTC)

This has been resolved now. Newyorkbrad 13:31, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Brad. Yes, I've been pretty busy in real life for a while and I'm not sure when I'll be back in any significant capacity. —Doug Bell 06:18, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Golf

Hi Doug Bell
I thought that a way to further improve the golf articles on Wikipedia is for the whole project to work together towards a goal. An example of this could be a certain number of good articles in so many months, or to create the project's first ever featured article. If you are interested, come to the talk page and discuss it. And hopefully through this the project can continue to work towards several goals in the near future. Grover 10:05, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi!

Hey DB - Haven't spoken to you in a while (Which, considering the past topics of our conversations, might not be a bad thing), but I have an important question. I'm thinking of letting myself be available for adminship in the next 1-2 months or so and seeing as you were the thorn in my side last time (I wasn't really ready for adminship last time, so it was a good thing) I'd appreciate if you checked my progress out now - it'd be a gigantic morale booster if Doug Bell thoguht I was ready. A few people have asked to nominate me in the past couple of months, but I've declined so far so that my previous problems were left further away. I've made an effort to be civil and I feel I've succeeded and I haven't been in any arguments since my block in April, which I'm sure you'd agree is 100 times better than the state a year ago during my last RfA. I've picked up another couple of FAs, and a FL & FP. I've also been more active in XfDs and discussions (although I haven't been concentrating on XfDs lately - I'm prepping an article for FAC with a collaborator). It'd be so appreciated if you could take the time to "review" me, but I'll certainly understand if you decline. Anyway, I've talked enough. :) Cheers, Spawn Man (talk) 07:07, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Link Deleted

Hi Doug,

I am the webmaster of PokerCalculatorOnline.com. Have just noticed the external link is gone from the Poker Pobabilities (Texas Hold 'em) page. I have no problem if you think it is best not to have it there, I just wanted to check if this was you, or another user. Just wanted to know if you would prefer it stays gone.

Thanks heaps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.212.152.40 (talk) 13:13, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Poker probability - deal affect ?

Hi Doug,

As a new poker player and math-dummy, I found the poker probability pages quite interesting.

What effect, if any does the manner of dealing the cards have on the odds of particular card combinations appearing ?

And if I wanted to get geeky, what would be the formulas ?

E.g.:

What is the difference between a "normal" Holdem deal to 10 players + flop, vs just randomly dealing out 23 or 25 cards ?

P.S. Do you play poker? ... participate at the twoplustwo.com forums ?

Mike (I don't know if I'll get notified, if you reply to this, if you want you can email me at mikestramba@gmail.com

[edit] Retrieveing content from: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptive_Predictive_Expert_Control

Hi Doug,

I recently had an article deleted and your name was listed as someone who could help me retrieve the content. I picked your name at random from the list of admins.

I've reviewed the comments related to the deletion, and have read through the Notability guidelines, to better understand the deletion. I still believe that the content of the article is of use to general Wikipedia users, but agree that the delivery of the information provided by the content, needs to be rethought.

Having the original content back would be very useful from a recouping the article coding perspective.

Hope you can help or provide additional guidance.

Best regards, Control.optimization (talk) 11:53, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] deleted article

Hello - very recently I was working on an author biography for Kristin Billerbeck - she is on the requested article page. This is the first time I have ever done this and as I was writing I hit save to make sure my work would be OK. It seemed to save OK so I kept writing - when I hit save again, my work vanished and I was informed that "Cobaltbluetony" had deleted my work and now I can't get it back. Can you get it for me? I wasn 't finished.

Thanks, ado6277 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ado6277 (talkcontribs) 20:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
