[edit] Early life

As a child Adams grew his musical interest generally through living with his grandmother.[1] Originally he became interested while living in Hermosa Beach, California. From here he was moved all across the Southern California coast from places such as Linwood and Long Beach. Switching around with his multi cultural family, he spent his most influenced time living with his grandmother. Living here she, as well as her sons, would constantly leave classical rock music around. These are the likes of the Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello and the Beatles. This became the start of a motivation that thrived for the introduction of an alternative reggae style.

[edit] Career

[edit] Too Rude

Along with Too Rude bass guitarist Lazy Dread, Dog Boy ranks at legendary status in the Southbay as Hermose Beach's first punk rockers to play reggae music. This status increased as they also became the first to mix the two genres as they did for their past group The Mighty Rhythm Trak. Being that they were still considered reggae with their lack of punk rock they decided to create yet another band. This band also gained popularity as it was simply a side project known as War Called Peace. After much side musical projects Dog Boy and Lazy Dread finally concluded with the band known today as Too Rude.[2] As time went by Dog Boy became more known for working on the Kottonmouth Kings' first three albums as a featured artist writing such hits as "On the Run" and "Dog's Life" which was featured on the soundtrack for 1999 film Lost & Found. While in this process Dogboy recorded the debut self titled Too Rude CD which was released with Suburban Noize Records on April 4, 2000.[3] Originally started as a solo project the record reflected greatly on the mix of reggae and punk rock as once done with the Mighty Rhythm Trak.

After the first album, the second Re-Invented was not released for over four years on October 26, 2004.[4] The album took the same root as years before with just as much success.

[edit] Solo career

With much of Robert's success, he originally planned to work as a solo artist. After years of working on the Too Rude project, he decided he would finally work on his long anticipated solo debut. Many Suburban Noize Records fans were familiar with Dog Boy being that he toured with the Kottonmouth Kings since they themselves debuted bringing along popularity to him as well. Dog Boy decided in this album to once again work on a mixture of styles throughout the intire album rather than his typical punk rock and reggae acts. After about a year of working on the album, Rebel Riddim was finally released on April 3, 2007. With the album name and lifestyle that he lived through most people would believe that his main focus in songs would be towards in obvious rebellious way. Instead he placed solutions for conflicts into his music. Defining the title with his own definition and liberating himself musically with his own soul revolution, he sings of love, unity and acceptance of the world. No matter the style Dogboy delivers, the songs consist of clever lyrics with tight and short arrangements and numerous hooks. The album consist of generally interesting subjects such as drug addiction, alcohol abuse, entanglements with the law, jail, and women. Unlike the Too Rude projects, Rebel Riddim made greater success as it marked #11 on the Billboard's Top Reggae Albums chart[5].

In the time Dog Boy worked on Rebel Riddim, he was originally working on Too Rude's third official album. Dogboy recorded guest vocals on the new Ditch song "legalize" due out in 2008
