The provinces of Kenya are subdivided into 71 districts (wilaya). The districts and the capital of each of them are given below as per beginning of 2005. There are also plans to create around 30 new districts, but as of early 2007 they were not yet implemented, although preliminary district names and capitals have been already revealed.
