Diez (also Dietz) is a municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is part of the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis. Diez lies north of the Taunus mountains, on the banks of the river Lahn. The town is dominated by the castle of the medieval counts of Diez, the later residence of the counts of Nassau-Diez.
Diez is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Diez.
