Diamantina Shire Council is a Local Government Area in far south western Queensland, Australia. The major town and administrative centre of the shire is Bedourie. Other towns in the shire include Betoota and Birdsville, home of the iconic Birdsville Races, a horse race meeting to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The Simpson Desert National Park, Diamantina Lakes National Park and Astrebla National Park all lie either in part or in full in the shire.
