Thanks for your corrections on language and adjustments. Last few days so many alterations have been made that the part I had addes is changed quite a lot. I still have read it carefully, but some changes are not correct in my opinion. I'll treat them here.
1. meaning a measure of the precise time-of-day is very important
I do not consider this to be correct. Because once the relative distances are known. And that is before the location, the distances to the satellites or the time is known. All calculations can be done with the distances only. Time does not need to be involved at all. (Time differences are used for calculating the relative distances. But after that everything can be calculated in meters.)
2.but in four-dimensional spacetime,
Because all calculations can be done with distances allone, I would not call it four-dimensional spacetime, four-dimensional does give the suggestion of relativity concepts and Lorenz transformations. Allthough relativety plays a role it is not needed to explain the principle.
As said I still have to read everything carefully, but am thinking about the following. This is not worked out and I am typing while making it 'up'. The numbers still have to be worked out, so the numbers only are for illustration, as the placenames, because I still have to construct a nice example.
An example how GPS works using a more earth based example.
The following example is based on the surface of the earth and therefore 2D, but the principle is the same. A similar problem as the GPS problem is the following. You are in Great Britain, at an unknown town, but you know the distance from the town to Birminham is 100 km more than the distance to London. Also the distance to Bath is 30 km more than the distance to Londen. Where are you?
You could try to use Google earth to solve the problem. Offcourse the distance to Birmingham is 70 km more than the distance to Bath, but this does is not extra information.
How can this problem be solved.
1. Use google earth and with trial and error you can get closer and closer to the solution.
2. Set it up in an x,y grid (where distances are 'equal' in both directions), and use calculations to solve this problem. There are a number of algoritms for this. (An iteration with circles is possible, an iteration with hyperboles is possible, pseudo calculation is possible).
3. Take a car and a GPS and drive towards the direction that the distances are matching the problem. (This can be done theoretically in a computer as well, so you do not need a car).
4. Use a spreadsheat of 100 by 100 and use a grid to do the calculations. Make the spreadsheat so that you can move the coordinates and zoom in and zoom out.
If for example the given 0.0 is exactly at Greenich, Londen is at ..., Birmingham is at ... and Bath is at ..., with
This example can be extended to a 1D solution. Where only the relative distances to two towns is known, but you know that your are on the costline of Britain, so there are only two points that fit.
For the first example (London, Birmingham, Bath) there are actually two solutions, but I intend to set up the problem so that on solution falls within Britain and the other in the sea.
What is different in the example from a GPS. Satellites are moving, but for a single calculation they are considered to be at one point. An Extra salellite is needed because we live in a 3D world. Measuring is done by measuring the time between the signals. In the example the technique how to measure the distances to the towns is not given. Mathematically the problems are the same, with the town example (2D) it becomes hyperboles on the map where you are, in space (3D) they are hyperboloids.
If there are errors in measuring the distances, these can result in larger errors for your location. Having more towns will confirm you correct position and can give greater accuracy. Different Geometries will give different accuracies. As with GPS with the minimum number of satellites needed, there are always two solutions, but one can be discarded easely.
As said this will take some thinking of my side and some figuring out towns and distances so that they are correct. Crazy Software Productions 18:44, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Question what is the location ?
I must honestly say, that I do not know how difficult it is to actually find the location using for example Google earth. Maybe another example is better ?

[edit] Bulgarian flag 1878-1944
Dear Denelson83, you have uploaded the following version of the Bulgarian National flag, allegedly from the period 1878-1944:
In fact this type wasn't Bulgarian National banner (also a State banner, because Bulgaria didn't have particular state type) in the period mentioned above. The Bulgarian National flag was described in the Tarnovo Constitution of 1879 as follows:
- Art. 23. The Bulgarian people's flag is three-coloured and consists of white, green and red colours, placed horizontally. (Source, Tarnovo Constitution of 1879, Juridical Encyclopedia, in Bulgarian.)
There wasn't a golden lion on red square in the upper corner. Such practice didn't exist even unofficially. According to the Bulgarian Heraldry and Vexillology Society the National flag consisted of only three coloured stripes, see here. However, according to the same organization there was an ensign with golden lion on red square in the upper corner in this period, but this was the Naval ensign of Bulgaria, see here. Therefore I want to ask you to replace this inaccurate version of the Bulgarian flag with the actual historical one:
There are numerous historical articles in English Wikipedia, which show the Bulgarian Naval ensign instead of Bulgarian National flag, so I think this case is important. This replacement has been already done in the article Flag of Bulgaria.

I'm not sure. I had the same thought about it looking odd without green, but the problem is that green typically means "go." All of the other colors are supposed to signify a problem, red for deletion, orange for content issues, etc. I'd suggest posting a message to Wikipedia talk:Template standardisation. [edit] Changing an svg flag you created
I added some maritime flags to the Sail Racing Rules page. Some of them, 
for example, don't have the 1 pixel border around them which makes them difficult to read in table form and against the light blue background but others, like 
do. Can I change the image or would you rather do it? Some of the flags you created have a "pencil line border" as it were, and some don't and I think the border is preferred for the International maritime signal flag set. Hey again, just wanted to coordinate with you on two things
- I removed the thumbnail size on the waas service area image because of a feature built into the wikipedia software. Each person can define the size they want thumbnails rendered at based on the size of their display screen (24" lcd or 3.5" iphone). But when a thumbnail size is defined in the article (i.e. "300px") the renderer will ignore the user's settings and display at that size. People can always click to view full size. I hope this is OK by you.
- I saw that you added the old WAAS logo back in. I'd actually removed that in the past because, as far as I can tell, they no longer use that logo. The image itself was pretty small and I tried to find a bigger one but couldn't. Now I could be completely wrong but...
- Could you do some searching and, if you find it's still used, change the image out for a higher resolution one? If not, how about we remove it?

I'm new to wiki; let's see if I can leave a message here! This is the basic concept, but I have no idea where to get references: After an EMP event, my horse and buggy will still work, my truck might work, and my computer will probably be fried. There is some ISO testing in cages for electronics certification in Farady cages with sparks and arcs, but I don't think anyone has tried a buggy or the plethora of other essential devices that could be rated. Some are really big! Will the city's water plant still work? That is usually the first thing that one tries to restore, because the hospital does not work without water. This assumes an ordianry (not EMP) disaster observation (Kansas ice storm), where one expects the hospital to shift over to a generator while one deals with the crisis. Perhaps the Rand Corporation (Dr. Strangelove) has already produced a report, but I doubt that we can see it or reference it. Nukeh (talk) 14:59, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Earlier today you summarilly deleted the entry for Dan Besse, Winston-Salem, NC City Council member and candidate for Lieutenant Governor, asserting that the entry was irrelevant. Dan is a significant state-wide politician with support and endorsements from multiple organizations. He is polling ahead of several of the other candidates.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

I am brand new with Wikipedia. On February 8, 2008, I posted an article for Reid Supply Company that had too many external links, was flagged as advertising and was speedily deleted before I understood how to use it. I corrected the problem with the Reid Supply Company submission and am ready to resubmit. How do I re-submit the information?
I tagged the submission with the "hangon" tag, but must have accidentally overwrote the new submission. I tried contacting KurtRaschke who originally flagged my article for deletion, but have not received a response since early February. Your contact information was also associated with the speedy deletion, so I am now contacting you.
Please let me know what I need to do to "unblock" Reid Supply Company and repost a more Wikipedia-friendly submission.

Thank you for the tip about resubmitting the Reid Supply Company article. I'll give it a try when I'm finished editing it. I tried to resubmit it before, but I got the message "You are editing a deleted page" warning.
Where can I find the code to create a company block like on the W.W. Grainger page? My article is complete, but I would like to have a company block with internal links (Slogan, Year, Type) and external link to our web site. I would also like to know how to create the section headers (See Also, References, External Links). I have been searching on Wikipedia, but haven't been able to find the information I'm looking for.

OK, about this conflict of interest thing....how do you suppose Grainger, MSC, McMaster-Carr or any other company gets their information with propriary logos on Wikipedia? You can't tell me that the general public out of the goodness of their hearts are going to do company research, pull propietary logos and information and post it on Wiki. If they didn't post the information themselves, they hired and paid a third party to do it. From what I've heard, that's how the game is played.
Reid Supply Company has been in business for 60 years and I was trying to present that information on Wiki. I made the initial mistake of having the original article more of a marketing piece instead of information. I re-wrote it with facts, no marketing copy. If I can't post information about Reid Supply, can I send you the information as an unbiased person and you post it? I can assure you that the information is accurate.

Hi. I'm just wondering in what way is that dab dubious in any way? Panamax is a brand of generic pain relief medication popular within the Asia/Pacific region (ie. Australia). Given that referencing a dab is nothing short of ridiculous, I'd like to know how a user searching for the effects of "Panamax" (let's assume they don't understand "paracetomol") is going to get there from a page about shipping widths? Dab'ing brands when another article by the same name exists is not uncommon. If you feel that this is a rather irrelevant dab, then please be more specific in an edit summary than a term such as "dubious" - expand on your reasoning. Thanks.
