Demmin (IPA: [dɛˈmiːn]) is a district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is bounded by (from the south and clockwise) the districts of Müritz, Güstrow, Nordvorpommern, Ostvorpommern and Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

The district was established in 1994 by merging the former districts of Demmin, Altentreptow and Malchin.
[edit] Geography
The Peene river enters the district in the west, runs through a large lake called the Kummerower See (33 km²), and leaves the district to the northeast. The district of Demmin unites parts of the historical regions of Mecklenburg and (Western) Pomerania.

- The silver griffin together with the chess pattern have been the arms of Pomerania
- The silver castle to the right is from the arms of the city of Demmin
