Daniel DeWeldon born Daniel Felix De Weldon. An American Actor, Screen Writer, Director & Producer. DeWeldon is a native of the Maryland & Washington, D.C. area and son of the late sculptor Felix de Weldon. Who was most famous for the Marine Corps Memorial raising the flag of the United States on Iwo Jima in World War II cast in Bronze & Granite. Located near the Arlington National Cemetery.
DeWeldon's theatrical debut was in the 1999 LA production of David Rabes "Streamers" receiving the Los Angeles Times Critics Choice. Later he produced, directed and starred in the 2003 LA production of Edward Albees’ “The Zoo Story”. In 2006 DeWeldon starred in The Actors Studio Los Angeles production of "Death Of A Salesman".
Prior to being received as a Lifetime Member of the legendary The Actors Studio under Al Pacino, Martin Landau & Mark Rydell. He studied a six year theatrical masters program with Uta Hagen, Michael Arabian & Howard Fine.
Recently, DeWeldon produced and starred with [1]Deborah Dir in the hit Los Angeles play, Danny and The Deep Blue Sea Revival by John Patrick Shanley. The play ran for six months and received twelve acclaimed Critics Choice. 29th Annual LA WEEKLY Theater Awards. "Danny & The Deep Blue Sea" was nominated for Best Two Person Show & Best Production Design.
Moreover, he has showcased theatrical productions of “Lovers & Other Strangers”, “Does A Tiger Wear A Necktie”, “Life & Limb”, “Reservoir Dogs”, “Glengarry Glenross”, & “True West”.
DeWeldon's latest film credits include Select Fit, directed by Daniel Roemer playing the interrogating Angel. The Night Before The Morning After, playing a hallucinating & deranged heroin addict trapped in a mental institution & "The Bill", playing the over zealous and pissed restaurant patron. Other film credits include “Unseen”, “Lamentations”, “Cat Food”, “Cozy”, “LiL Red” and Headhunting,Inc.directed by Pat Ortman.
Currently Daniel DeWeldon is producing two films under his company Volition Entertainment Productions.
The first being a documentary titled A Hero for Humanity - The Man Behind The Monuments. Daniel will narrate the film reflecting the life story of his father Felix de Weldon,famed for his work as a world renown artist, his most famous work being The Flag Raising of Iwo Jima in Arlington, VA.
Second, Daniel is producing "Driven", an autobiographical feature film based on his true life experiences. Currently attached is Armand Assante, SEAL for the music, Michael Arabian director and Wolfgang HatzMr. Engine Audi of America.
