Clair M. Poulson

Clair M. Poulsom uses his experience with law enforcement and the justice system when he writes novels. Because of his personal experience he is able to accurately portray characters and real life settings.
Poulson has had over thirty-five year experience in the criminal justice system. He began as a military policeman in the U.S. army and then he became a trouper in the Utah State Highway Patrol. During those years in law enforcement Poulson also served as deputy sheriff and later he was elected county sheriff for Duchesne County. He served as the county sheriff for eight years and then he became a justice court judge for thirteen years. Poulson has also served in other positions under the judicial system such as, the Board of Justice Court Judges, a member of the Utah Judicial Council for six years, and as the education chairman for the Justice Courts for two years. As of April 2006 Clair Poulson is a member of the Ethics Advisory Committee.
Poulson is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as Mormons. He has served in numerous church callings and continues to serve the church today.

Poulson and his wife, Ruth, have five children. Ruth Poulson is a homemaker and former piano teacher. Each of their children are married, and they have a total of nine grandchildren. The Poulson’s and their oldest son operate a grocery store; Clair Poulson also continues to care for several horses and he does a little farming. The horses are used for riding and relaxing.
Clair Poulson states that has always had an interest in books and he enjoys reading. He would make up stories to tell his children before bed, and now he has a chance to do the same with his grandchildren.
