The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (Chinese: 新加坡民航局, Pinyin: Xīnjīapō Mínghángjú; Malay: Penguasa Penerbangan Awam Singapura), contrasted by the popularised logo and initials of CAAS, is Singapore's Civil Aviation Authority and a statutory board under the Ministry of Transport. The CAAS regulates civilian air traffic within the airspace jurisdiction of the Republic; it is also the sole government agency to maintain the operational efficiency of the airports in Singapore and to engage civilian air service agreements with air service operators.
The CAAS is partitioned into 13 divisions, the Singapore Aviation Academy, and Changi Airport Managers and Partners (Singapore). Each division facilitates the operation of the Singapore Changi Airport and Seletar Airport. CAAS also operates the CAAS Air Traffic Control Service, which serves to ensure faultless movements of civilian aircraft at Singapore’s airports and in the Singapore Flight Information Region (FIR).
The authority is headed by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Major General Lim Kim Choon.
