[edit] My Wikipedia Introduction
Why I'm here basically… |
[1]
Hey Wikipedia, my name is Adrien Gallois and I'm ready to make Wikipedia my "home" for the next couple of years or however long I'm willing to stay here. At first I am here because I love music, but the reason has extended far beyond my original thought. I basically contribute to Metal-related articles, and some other subjects if I feel like it. Although I am interested in the subjects, I don't edit any game, show or architecture related articles and I might even make another account just for that. Most of my edits tend to be small ones (grammar corrections, visual corrections (formatting), vandal/etc. edits and the like) but I occasionally would write a start-up for an entire article if I had the time or felt bold enough to make it. I am an underground type of Wikipedian and I feel comfortable being at the less visited areas of Wikipedia and I am basically here in secret. What do you call this? a Wiki-Stranger perhaps? I try to make sure the grammar, the organization, format, use of style are sub-par for pages I visit (and would be longtime goals for more major articles). I also make sure claims are backed up with reliable sources and delete information that hurts the article (especially spam, vandalism and other nonsense), doesn't add anything or misinforms it which don't help it. I try to mention things no one has mentioned in discussions and try to prove my points with enough evidence when needed. I would be off and on Wikipedia at random times. Oh and to me, edit counts mean nothing, I'm not here to compete, so I will do all that I can in an edit, unless I can actually separate it if it's easier. I like to see the big picture than just a portion of it. I like it specific and think being so, will help give a lot more insight into the article than something generalized. I am also quite the artist and try to make sure articles are visually pleasing (not an eyesore) and I enjoy formatting my page (but would like to know the proper ways to do it or use more advanced programming). My page is seriously about due for that.
One thing that I dislike about Wikipedia is the use of images if they are basically a logo of some major company or a band logo or album cover I can understand the copyright issues but if it's a band picture and it is truly them what kind of harm will that do? someone will take it and sell band pictures??? I think not, we need a more specific image use system. I also dislike some warns for vandals, for example, a vandal was doing minor vandalism but excessively and after some warns just asking a simple question after their last warning and guess what? they get blocked. I think that is just unjust in our system, even if it was a vandal since he/she actually stopped and controlled himself/herself, he/she is of the minor vandals (I think he/she should be under close watch to scare him/her away if he/she is even fear induced and blocked if he/she vandalizes). Also it is how serious the vandalism was, if it were a personal attack or an interesting use of words or vandalizing an administrator's Userpage, then we can put the hammer down on him/her as he/she is a greater threat than the other stated above and thats what I would like to get out.
I also think it is a user's duty to make a great Userpage and especially for new users it will give them a chance to see what they can do, since the individuals hold all the power over the content of their page and should be a democracy but a lightly guarded one. I'm more an intermediate wikipedian now and just trying to understand the world of Wikipedia (which is a lot larger than I thought) and will take some time to understand fully (but not 100%). You have all my loyalty and commitment and all this possibly because of my over-checking and self-control. Also, I feel very comfortable being here, ready to help out. If you do need help you can contact me for article cleanup. I will do any job all the way from stubs to FAs.

[edit] Wikipedia
As a Wikipedian |
[1]
On purpose, my sense of vocabulary and etc wont be equal to those in actual articles. Being my page, I set my rules to an extent. It's boring to be "librarianistic" (meaning use proper vocabulary) everywhere so I don't use it and use proper grammar when I certainly need to.
I find it annoying that people write on their page as if it were an encyclopedic article (it's not!) and would leave their page in a second flat (maybe exaggerated but still). I respect those who type normally on their pages and I find them to be cooler people :).
I don't really like people who show what they edited. I just do not care that much and it's unneeded in my opinion.
I don't know what kind of Wikipedian I am, be it a; Wikipedia:WikiElf, Wikipedia:WikiFairy, Wikipedia:WikiGnome, Wikipedia:WikiOgre, Wikipedia:WikiGremlin, Wikipedia:WikiTroll or Wikipedia:WikiDragon. I'm a mix of a Wikifairy, a WikiElf, a WikiGnome and a bit of a WikiOgre, I'm not a WikiGremlin and definitely not a WikiDragon or WikiTroll.
My page is on the brink of being deleted but I follow Wikipedia:Ignore all rules for my page. I also use WP:SNOWBALL for all the idiots that don't understand notability when they see it.
What I try to do/My Wikipedia philosophy:
- I try not to get into edit wars and try to prove my points.
- I am an Inclusionist and being one, I think Wikipedia should have sources on nearly EVERYTHING in the far future.
- I see notability as unacceptable on Wikipedia because it basically strains us of what we can add, being me I hate the strain and I rather see it as a term of if there are sources of any kind on the subject.
- I think Wikipedia is simply for anything and everything, I feel that Wikipedia should be limitless with the obvious articles that could be added.
- I try to get around and learn by following examples of good articles and the edits of more experienced users.
- For me; Wikipedia is a work in progress.
- People who run around with nobility tags are a danger to me but even myself would add a tag to a band that was in existence for 1 year without any release. I would use the tag very sparingly.
- I think Wikipedia is made more difficult than it actually is because of the many views and values in the editing styles of different users and is pretty much a fact itself.
- Help new(er) users with Wikipedia and show |what not/what to| do.
You can say I don't care for the rules and regulations of Wikipedia (which I actually do) but I am not a 100% mega stickler for them, so I will edit this way if you like it or not (if you don't fine, I won't get into an edit war for your revert) but please don't think I am here to troll and mess around because I too want to help and it would be of greater value to help me than "shunning me out". Thank you.
Here is a page of useful info: my custom templates for people who find this in the least useful tell me.
Specific things I like to do (Project-wise) on Wikipedia:
- Adding demos/demo covers by bands (if they aren't found out that is).
- Improving the quality of albums/singles or the like.
- Making sure every format is to the guidelines and that every basic info is available (infobox, band image, disco, members, etc) before any real editing is done.
- Completing discographies of bands/artists.
- Correcting genres of bands/artists.
- Reverting bad edits/vandalism/other.
General things I like to do on Wikipedia:
- Helping articles "get a move on"
- Starting articles or request them if they deem important enough (for instance I would not add some local company or band)
- See how I can improve my edits and my page
- Search for interesting articles
- Search for bands/genres I never heard of
- Fix grammar/style/quality/citing sentences
- Make articles seem "fuller" or actually do that
Specific annoyances Project-wise:
- Incorrect category edits
- The bad/true amateur edits
- Genre edits, especially to Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Norther and Wintersun
- Edits that involve illegal download leakages in an article or any similar instances
- When an edit style by another editor is completely different to my own
Even though "it happens" I try to get around it and forgive it all
Outside Wikipedia organization:
I have a main bookmark of Wikipedia with several topics inside of it;
- Wikipedia Rules, Guidelines and etc: For all those things that become a nuisance to remember
- Wikipedia How-to Guides: Sometimes we need to remember how something is done using the defaults
- Wikipedia Articles for Major Rewrite/Help: A list of articles I come by but don't add to my watchlist but will later fully work on them or improve their quality/presentation when I feel like it
- The other additions are specific Wikipedia pages I specifically like or enjoy
Certain things I wonder about Wikipedia:
Secretly:
- If there are band musicians and artists editing Wikipedia or know they have an article about themselves (the only ones I know are John Haughm and "A Sniper")
- People I actually know or knew that edit Wikipedia
- If there are articles about certain people I know or knew of
- I know some people want to help out Wikipedia but some I find to be oppressive extremists. Even if Wikipedia is a free Encyclopedia, I think some certain systems are oppressively operated here, again... there are many supporters, but what can one do?
Specifically:
- Any family or friend that edits
- Someone I know from online that edits
Wiki-places you can find me at:
- Wikimedia Commons (and feel free to give me any tips before I cross that line) - I now have a new camera and scanner (not hooked up yet) so I will finally have some interchangeable "real world" images. :) Only thing that sucks is I forgot my pass and email combo for commons...
New user tips:
- If you are in it only for genre editing/correcting or extremely specific subjects I don't think Wikipedia is for you there are many other trusted music sites where you can boast about your "musical knowledge".
- If you are interested in including pictures into Wikipedia, it would be a plus to check the interwiki articles at the left side under the toolbox header if they are from the Wikimedia Commons it can be used. Don't copy its language of "image" use the appropriate one for instance "Image:title" on the English Wikipedia.
- Don't just upload a picture, learn how to license it and what rationales to use at; Wikipedia:Fair use and Wikipedia:Non-free content.
- A free image are frankly the easiest images to use on Wikipedia, I advise their use for articles other than copyrighted photos (more specifically of posed band members). Just create an account on Wikimedia Commons and take pictures you think should be used on Wikipedia (more specifically live concerts of bands/artists), but you must be a good/decent photographer.
- Before making an article make sure you have sufficient information and that it is notable enough for inclusion (for music cases the band/artist has released international albums or released them on a major label, played at international concerts or has other encyclopedic value such as a publish of works or some other association). I have battled deletion and notability before and sometimes it seriously needs a reference tag (even a "reref tag") and or cleanup instead.
- When you create articles, don't forget to add the correct projects to their talk pages it will attract more users to the scene and maybe help a notability or deletion situation to save the article and ultimately help and make sure the article will grow.
- And most importantly familiarize yourself with Wikipedia; experiment your edits in sandboxes first to get the gist of it, read over Guidelines, Rules and Policies and ask questions, get answers!).
- Just explore and try to envision yourself doing this sort of stuff and do it with passion.
- Good luck out there :)
Miscellaneous:
- People have never ever thought of having usernames as redirects but I think there should be for some names that someone may be looking for.
Wikipedia Highlights:
- A User in which I forgot his name − noticed he has an editing style similar to mine and maybe style in general
- In Flames − I don't know many shes that listen to dm but I wouldn't mind more where she is coming from. Overall cool user :).
- User:Hit bull, win steak − appreciative ppl pwn!
- Lte2112 − what can I say, I like the new people :)
- Navnløs − thanks for adding me to your "wiki"-legion, I'm ready to serve! ("like the National Guard")
- I'm sure there are more but those are the highlights.
- A Sniper Just found out today! (whenever that was) it's really amazing who's editing along with us now.
Other:
- You are welcome to ask me for help.
- You are welcome to thank me.
- You are welcome to help me.
- You are welcome to edit my page using good faith and civility.
- You are welcome to view my main page only.
Articles I'm fed up with: Nightrage (members), Blooddrunk for leaks and other pre-release nonsense..., Opeth (genre), Wintersun (genre/influences), List of Christian metal bands (the list in my opinion has become retarded, I won't edit it anymore), Job for a Cowboy obviously - a lot of people hate and even despise the band, X Japan's genres and people uncaping the h's for Hide's name, most deathcore/metalcore bands have supreme vandalism and genre changes, and every list anyone could know as well.

[edit] General things about me
General info |
[1]
My name is basically my dream band name, it is a combination of "Circa" meaning from an approximate time period and a part of the word "fuse". Put together it resembles; "timefuse", which can have two separate perceptions. Also the verbal pronunciation for six with "cix" can refer to the evil of using a triple digit of its type (666). There is further information in another area of my page if you care to see.
Kade {Kaid} is basically what I would like to be called as a nickname if I were in some band.
Ade is a nickname I would like to primarily be called. My best friend started using this obvious nickname for my name.
Ades {one syllable} is a nickname that I don't want to be called but am anyway.
Aman is a nickname that only one of my friends is known to call me and he "Dman".
D.W. is a nickname that started when I played EE under the name DarK WinD. I was way too popular there with that nickname and most likely still am, ehh it's ok though I like some fame...
Do not dare shout out Adrien!!! to me (probably spelled the English way; Adrian) from the Rocky videos. It basically annoys the hell out of me, please do not do it!
I am actually a descendant of the real 'Frankenstein' from my mother's father's side (and his son (my grandfather), the one who was a Software Engineer for IBM) and can be traced back to Victor "Von" Frankenstein the doctor/scientist; not the monster!, not from the book!, the films or the comics! He is the real acclaimed Frankenstein.
I have a famous grandfather on here, his name is Pierre-Marie Gallois. What you don't know is he is also a painter and painted his entire courtyard walls and made fake windows and other objects in a form of Trompe-l'œil art.
The closest metal band to me is Toxik from Peekskill, New York.
If I were in a band the ones that would fit with me the best would be Sonata Arctica, Gojira and Alchemist but I would need loooong hair even though for it to look right, although I look too much like Nick Wall/Miko combo for hair length to even matter.
I am basically what you call; "a-jack-of-all-trades" while being a little exclusive on some subjects.
I rarely use emails or a cell phone for that matter so my kind of contact is limited. I also dislike clamping a cellphone on me as well.
On Wikipedia, I am here to be as ultimately professional as I can but have fun doing it as well.
In real life, I am rather a simple ordinary guy and I am not as "insert word here" as I seem to be here. I like to be around people who appreciate and have utmost respect for me, and don't mind how eccentric or experimental I can act, while being decent at moments where I am forced to and this is basically who I am.
I am American but I have many French relatives and a strong European background, most notable in order: American, French, English, Scottish, German, Italian, Austrian and Hungarian (maybe more before the 1700s which I have no known records of). My ancestry, in itself, is very interesting which you will later understand why.
My last name "Gallois" originates from the Welsh area of England in the Wales region.
My exact first name won't be found as a name tag anywhere in the United States because they just sell Adrian name tags and no Adrien tags and yes it does annoy me.
There is one tv show or character that can define my inner and outer self, maybe completely, aside from being a metalhead as my obvious ego counterpart. The show can also pretty much define how my past was as well. It basically scares me how much it can perfectly be related to me and just remembering watching the show that long ago. All of that is just indescribable to me to type out here.
Beyond this page (in my subpages) it is suggested that you must have something for me to even possibly continue this far afterwards.

Feel free to im me if you have something to say or don't mind having a conversation with me For anyone who is interested; a map is being made after the band Alchemist for Halo CE (PC), and will feature dm oriented artwork and atmosphere of the band and even weapons that are said to be in the shape of guitars or the like. The map will have a song of theirs as well but the song is unknown at the moment. Expectations are high and what will actually become of them is unexpected when the map will be finished and might go into a pre-alpha or beta before the map is finalized (if it is that good of a map). More information about the map will be presented with time so those who are interested/very interested please be patient. Also the next map might be a remake after Wintersun's album cover or another map after a "mappable" band. I am the one responsible for any dm map creation because I was the one who suggested the idea, they will be made by Keitaro. If you have any questions or comments please im me or talk to me here if you do so desire.

Location and Related to Location |
[1]
I live 45 minutes away from New York City and the closest metal band to me is the progressive thrash metal band Toxik from Peekskill, New York about 30 minutes away.
I live in White Plains, New York which is a suburb city of New York City and is the Westchester County seat city (also being the 43rd richest city to live in, in the world [1]) and was a city of a major battle (Battle of White Plains) for the American Revolution. Yes, George Washington was nearby and his headquarters for the war is located some 4500 feet from my home.
I am in my first year at Delhi College studying to become an Architect or for some technological related career. I'm not really sure what I want to be I just enjoy art, drawing and Architecture a whole lot.
My most visited country is France, mainly because that's where most of my relatives live. I would like to travel to many places in the future with Italy, Russia, Sweden, Finland, California, Canada (Quebec province mostly), Australia, China/South Korea/Japan, Egypt and anywhere else that's interesting. I love to travel and I am an on-the-go type of person, who is ready for anything new. With some relaxation afterwards obviously. I have been to France, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Ohio, and minimally in the Quebec province mainly one city across from Ogdensburg, New York and Montreal. The town Ogdensburg is a town I used to visit practically every summer with my parents visiting my grandparents until 2000 (I think, hard to think of the exact date) who lived up there (now in Stuart, Florida) and I must say they had the coolest river house, it was a modern, wood-style house with lot's of windows and a 75° roof, open-spaced and away from downtown and it was a blast being up there.
My Father moved from Marrakech, Morocco to a suburb city of Paris at age two which I find very interesting. He also was the boss of the Central Color wing in the US in Greenburgh, New York, his mother and also my grandmother was the president and founder for Central Color, a Professional Photo Lab Corporation in Paris, France.

[edit] Article to-dos
Articles to Write or Improve |
[1]
A list of articles that, I myself feel the need to write.
Basically my grandfather is a very talented and accomplished man and is basically Paris-famous. He is a Novelist and is in a Political Speaker group with a background of a Brigadier General in the air force. He showed me his war documentary tape and I was amazed when a friend bomber went down 300 meters next to his bomber. Just search his name (under image for best results) on Google and you'll see what I mean. He is a little like me and likes little to no contact and therefore is an amazing Painter.
- Central Color - A somewhat-underground French professional photographic company in Paris, France. I feel very comfortable being in the office when I visit :) and can give information on it firsthand. It must be expanded but the information on the internet is rather displeasing and will be difficult to give reliable sources.
- Slowmotion Apocalypse, a melodic death metal band from Italy in which Ettore Rigotti has been associated with producing their album Obsidian.
- Vulcain, acclaimed by critics as the French Motörhead. May want to find people who may be interested in Motörhead for the relevancy of it, etc. Can't believe they have no article yet. They have a French article. [2]
- Basically expand and upgrade the quality of present band articles, start band articles, albums, songs/singles, genres, styles, pictures and maybe band members as well, etc.
- Purge around and add categories to bands and improve the style of the articles to a "start class" template and then to "B class" for a long time goal.

Draft pages: Draft 1
Alchemist Tribute Solely for fans of the band. A grouping of sites and my take on the band. I'll see what I will add as I go on.
Userboxes You are a simpleton and like it summarized up or like to see it visually.
My Endless Spiral You like it beyond in depth and in your face personal. I will separate it into sections later on.
Questionnaires Just some random questionnaires, will add some more sooner or later.
Shock list List of things that would shock me at this very moment so don't make it happen ever please thanks.
Dreamscape A listing of my dreams if I care to write them down and remember them that is. Not into adding dreams I've had so this is all you get in the meantime.
In I'm In construction compiling my early thoughts of them. Will be added sometime soon.
My vocals Full coverage on my vocal abilities and related.
My E.I.E. Something I've made up and this was when I was 6-14. It is not for people who dislike fantasy, or science fiction or in particular DBZ-like stuff.
My C.R.F. Did you have/had a huge fascination of what Rocko meant for you as a kid? or even to this very day? Is Rocko like you at all or some other character? This is the very place for my rambling and Rocko-related subjects, for you to comment on how life would be without him and the show, if I have competition or you basically want to share some similar things/comments that relate to the show and all (obviously out of wiki). If you never seen the show before (it's an even better feeling to have watched it as a kid) I suggest you watch it, especially if you love the 90's, don't care how strange and kiddie it can be or to just "get away" for awhile.
Kaiden My little solo project I made. It is of a fake band I have made up with lyrics I will constantly create/work on and improve, and see where it will lead me to, etc.
