Christopher Jon Castile (born June 15, 1980 in California) is an American actor. He was best known for his roles as Ted Newton in the movies Beethoven and Beethoven's 2nd, as well as playing Mark Foster on the long running sitcom Step by Step. He also voiced Eugene Horowitz in Hey Arnold!.
One of Castile's earliest television appearances was a McDonald's commercial where he was supposed to flex his arms, much like a scene he was to play in later in the feature film Beethoven. He did many commercials after McDonald's including Capri Sun, Faygo, TJ Max, Kellogg's Smacks, M&M's, and more. After his career in commercials, he landed his first sitcom appearance in the show My Two Dad's with Paul Reiser, which incidentally starred Staci Keanen, who also played on Step By Step. After a few guest starring appearances on sitcoms, he then was cast in the short-lived sitcom Going Places, with Heather Locklear. The producers of the show kept Chris in mind when the casting for Step By Step was taking place. Chris was then hired on to play Mark Foster. Meanwhile, Chris was filming Beethoven, which was a film with Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt, telling the tale of a family and their travails with a slobbery Saint Bernard. Two years into the taping of Step By Step, Christopher then was cast again in Beethoven's Second. Step By Step, which starred Susanne Somers and Patrick Duffy, survived for seven years, after which it was cancelled after it moved from ABC to CBS for its final season. Chris has not done any acting since the cancellation of the show.
