Chris Pitman is a Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. In 1998, Pitman joined hard rock band Guns N' Roses as the keyboardist, along with Dizzy Reed. During concerts he also plays orchestration, synthesizers and sound effects. Prior to working with Guns N' Roses, he was a founding member of the bands Replicants, ZAUM, and the 1997 Grammy-nominated band Lusk.

Pitman studied at the Art Institute of Kansas City, as well as at the University of Missouri. In 1993, Pitman worked with the controversial artist Les Levine. The following year, Chris worked with Dr. Dre in Dre's home studio. He also joined Tool on tour, and played synth on Tool's album Ænima. In 1995, he appeared on the album Bourgeois Kitten by Blinker the Star.

Pitman was co-founder of Los Angeles-based art coalition 'Priory of the North', which focuses on conceptual/public art, and works primarily with Monotype Lithography, with Oils and Metal. His Land/Environment projects have been onsite in various MidWest regional Farmland sites in Lafayette and Johnson County Missouri. His Rio De Janiero site specific work titled "Mind/Land" has been delayed until permits and visas for such materials can be imported, this work has been in progress since 2003 and will hopefully see light of day.

  • Electric Company - Played live shows and recorded with this Brad Laner project.
  • Replicants (band) (BMG/Zoo) - A Record of Cover material demolished by Pitman,Ken Andrews, Greg Edwards,Paul Damour
  • ZAUM - Was guitarist,electronics and lead vocalist with Danny Carey of Tool, and Marko Fox of SexTapesTM
  • Tool (BMG/Zoo) - In 1994/95, Pitman toured with them and in 1996 played synths on the song "Third Eye".
  • Failure - Contributed sound effects and sound mixing.
  • Lusk (BMG/Zoo) - In 1996/97 Pitman recorded, produced,mixed,mastered, and was the lead singer and multi-instrumentalist in this Grammy-nominated band.
  • Sony Panic (DogFight) - In 1997 Pitman worked with this L.A. experimental/improvisational band. He played guitars and managed software live.
  • Blinker the Star (A&M & Dreamworks) - In 1996 Pitman contributed keyboards to the song "Kween Kat" of the album Bourgeois Kitten. In 1998 he co-wrote the single "Below the Sliding Doors".
  • Savvy Soviets - In 2003, Pitman was a producer/collaborater in Rio de Janeiro.
  • Electric Company (Tigerbeat6) - In 2004, he played synthesizer on the album Creative Playthings and played live with this Brad Laner electronic music project.
  • The Source of Uncertainty - In 2005, he played with Danny Carey and others.
  • SexTapesTM- started Jan2006 with Kelly Wheeler,Marko Fox, and Ryan Brown
