Chris Corchiani

Christopher Corchiani (born March 28, 1968 in Coral Gables, Florida) is a retired American professional basketball player.
He attended North Carolina State University and was selected by the Orlando Magic with the 9th pick of the 2nd round (36th overall) of the 1991 NBA Draft. He is one of three male NCAA Division I basketball players with more than 1000 career assists. He played with two other teams, the Boston Celtics and the Washington Bullets. He also played professionally in Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Germany.
While Chris' professional career was less than stellar, his college career from 1988 to 1991 at North Carolina State University was just the opposite. Corchiani and teammate Rodney Monroe teamed up to create a formidable force on the basketball court knicknamed "Fire and Ice". Corchiani was the "Fire"--intense and emotional--While Monroe was cool, and composed--the "Ice". The two paired up to break scoring and assist records, and in 2003 they were honored by having their jersey's hung at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Corchiani still holds the school record for assists (1,038)
