Chin (Mayan god)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chin is one of the names mentioned by Las Casas for a deity said to have introduced homoerotic relationships to the Maya peoples living in the 16th-century Verapaz provinces. Under customary law, such relationships, between men of different ages, were akin to legal marriages, and any attempt on the honor of the younger partner was punishable as adultery. About Chin's mythological role, nothing else is known.
