Charles Lucien Lambert (1828, New Orleans - 1896) was a black American composer.
Lambert was a member of a very musical family - his father being Charles-Richard Lambert, of New York and his brother also being a notable musician. His son, Lucien-Léon Guillaume Lambert was also to become a better-known composer. Alongside that of the violinist Edmond Dédé, it can be said[citation needed] that his compositions constitute the classics of romantic creole music.
