Chambly Academy is a public secondary school, in Saint-Lambert, Quebec, Canada, created by the merging of Chambly County High School and Penfield Academy in 1999. It resides at 675 Green Street, the former site of Chambly County High School. Chambly Academy is the the only English-language secondary school in Saint Lambert and is part of the Riverside School Board. It offers an International Baccalaureate program. Chambly Academy, like the school it replaced, is not a large school, with a student population ranging from 400 to 750 students (during a baby boom peak in the early 1970s).

[edit] History
The first St. Lambert High School was built on the corner of Green and Notre-Dame streets in 1896. In 1912, it was enlarged so that students from the entire county of Chambly could attend. Due to increased enrolment, the current building at 675 Green Street was opened in November 1954, and Chambly County High School became the first English language high school on the South Shore. In 1979, St. François-Xavier High School was opened in La Prairie, Quebec. In 1993, the students from St. Francois-Xavier were transferred to Penfield Academy, an institution named in honour of neurosurgeon Dr. Wilder Penfield.
In September 1999, Penfield Academy was merged with Chambly County High School. The combined school, named Chambly Academy, resides on the old Chambly County High School premises.
In 1986, facing following space shortages, portable clasrooms were built on the current location of the F wing. In 2001, however, these classrooms were permenantly destroyed following the finding of mould 5 years pervious. New portable classrooms were built in 2002 and opened in the back of the current E wing. These classrooms served as temporary space while 4 new permenant classrooms a value of 1 million dollars was built on the site of the destroyed portables, they opened up in 2004. This new recent addition serves as the current F-wing.
However, much of the school had not been updated since the 1950's and was in dicrepid conditions. Following the visits of gouvernmnt officials in 2005, the school received a multi million dollar renovation project which started in the summer of 2007. The complete interior make over will be complete by the end of august 2008 in time for the new school year.
A long standing project finally went through in 2007 when the city of Saint-Lambert purchased the empty lots owned by the school at a cost of 4.5 million dollars, the Riverside School Board, the school opertor had promised that all proceeds would go to the school. This money will be used to construct a Cafeteria, Sports Complex, Auditorium and will also be used to build a new library.
Currently (June 2007) the school is under renovation, the principal André Nardozza will be retiring in 2 years and the original Chambly Academy uniform consisting of Navy Blue, WHite and Beige is still under effect. The school is currently operating past its maximum capacity of 550 students and there is a growing waiting list to attend the only all inclusive, public, english-language international school in the province.
A statue will be built in 2009 in honor of Chambly Academy's pioneering principal B. Praw.
