This category is used for administration of the Wikipedia project, and is not part of the encyclopedia. It contains pages which are not articles, or lists articles by status, rather than content.

Shortcut: CAT:CATSST

Most userboxes automagically add transcluding pages to user categories. This is not desirable for pages that are not user pages. There are many ways to supress this behaviour:

1. nocat=true, the method for education userboxes
2. categories=no, the inspiration for this category
3. category=, to avoid having to use #ifeq
4. <includeonly>{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACE}}|User|[[Category:category name|{{PAGENAME}}]]|}}</includeonly>, which categorizes only pages in the user namespace

So far, there has been no standard way to do it, which means meta-templates have to account for all methods. User:Willscrlt wrote a report about this at User:Willscrlt/UBX/categories

Because this category may someday become very large please use the codes to sort templates into categories. If this category does grow to be very large, then we will branch it off into subcategories.

If you are putting a language user template in this category use the following format:

[[Category:Category suppression-supporting templates|Language suppression xx]]

Where xx is the abbreviation of the language (remember to add -0 -1 etc. for the levels).

If you are putting a nation of origin user template here then use the following format:

[[Category:Category suppression-supporting templates|Nation suppression (abb.)]]

Where the abbreviation is the first letter of the template for alphabetical categorization.

If you are putting one or more of your subpages in this category use the following format:

[[Category:Category suppression-supporting templates|Userpage suppression xx1]]

Where xx1 is the first two letters of your user name (or first and the third if they are already taken), and for other subpages use the same abb., but xx2, xx3, so on. Make sure to put a zero before letters 1-9, otherwise it will get screwy in double digits. If you have taken an abb. please write it here:

If you are putting a UBX template in this category use the following format:

[[Category:Category suppression-supporting templates|UBX suppression (abb.)]]

Where the abbreviation is the first letter of the subpage so as to make them in alphabetical order.

If you put a Wikipedia article in this category then follow this format:

[[Category:Category suppression-supporting templates| Wikipediaspace suppression (abb.)]]

Remember the space because it allows these pages to be categorized in the same spot.
